Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: ninja, pirate scenario edition
"Yar, matey, I think we ortin' ta figure this ou' o'er a game o' cards or rock paper scissors. Best ou' o' three an' nay cheatin'. Monkey Kombat optional."
Conversely, how a Ninja would deal with it:
"...*fwip*.." [Translation: "I am dreadfully sorry, James, but it seems my katana has slipped and cut your head off and now I've gotten your nice shirt all dirty with leaking blood. Please accept my humblest apologies and know that I will be fighting this next round in your honor. Cheers!]
Can you think of any other situations? Let us know and check out our picks for the week's best webcomics. Be sure to vote for your favorite!

Pfft. The Pirate would simply shoot the person who made the suggestion to play cards.
Richard @ Oct 6th 2007 9:17PM
The pirate was the one to suggest they play cards. And if you're saying he'd do this instead, then there still wouldn't have been anyone suggesting to play cards for him to shoot.
sheppy2.0 @ Oct 6th 2007 9:16PM
Leroy Jenkins jokes.... my god they never get old.
Fullmetal Salchemist @ Oct 6th 2007 10:04PM
Actually, they do. Especially when they're as poorly done as the DA strip was.
Richard @ Oct 6th 2007 9:21PM
Well my friend just so happens to be having a Pirate vs. Ninja costume party for his birthday this weekend. So I'm sure I'll be able to report back here with situations like what happens when the keg's about to run out or if the neighbors keep complaining.
Neebs @ Oct 6th 2007 9:37PM
Myextralife for me.
Word of the street(IDF-Digital Ruler). @ Oct 6th 2007 9:43PM
I'm Ninja you are Ninja,he is Ninja.
That guy rules.
Anyway most of those comics didn't make sense so I guess I will take Actiontrip this time,Epicpixels and the splitsville comic were cool tho'

Pirates versus ninjas is too old and entirely overdone. It's time to move on, so GTFO. No one here is a pirate or ninja and they never will be.
Ross Miller @ Oct 6th 2007 9:48PM
I'd thank a man named who has jovial time-traveler Hiro for an avatar would have a little more optimism.
Dio @ Oct 6th 2007 10:02PM
Sorry, it's just that I'm tired of the same old thing(and I'm sure many other people are as well). I've seen too many people in class or the mall or whatever BELIEVE that they are a ninja and try to sneak around like a dork. Then they would look down on the pirates while the pirates would look down on them. It's a redundant grouping of people through exclusivity. But hey, if an internet fad ties people together then good for them. There are too many types of people that refer to themselves as ninjas even without knowing about this silly little internet war that somehow takes place in real life. But I would much rather see something entertaining or at least a little funny. Like some of the recent videos that you have posted.
I just wish that something more original could happen on the internet.

I'm with you, man. Done.to.death.

We did a videogame one this week:

Feel free to flame away if you don't like it.
Orange Soda @ Oct 6th 2007 10:17PM
Screw the pirate ninjas, the zombie sasquatches are where it's at.
Evan @ Oct 6th 2007 11:12PM
This week's poll seems to be missing VG Cats' Halo comic: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/
Gary @ Oct 6th 2007 11:15PM
They're all just...awful. 2PStart gets minus 5 points for having to explain their terrible comic in the post. Jesus.
Amos @ Oct 6th 2007 11:16PM
Those were all truly terrible excuses for comedy. They make me want to cry.
Moofree @ Oct 6th 2007 11:24PM
Joystiq, you need to add a "None of the above" option.
That'd get my vote this week.
Seroth @ Oct 6th 2007 11:26PM
God Mode wins again for me! 'course, I always love those "realistic" Mario depictions. They're so disturbing, yet funny.
Mr Khan @ Oct 7th 2007 1:46PM
Agree
Glad to see Godmode included 2 weeks in a row
Metal_Link @ Oct 6th 2007 11:31PM
A Jedi would have just tricked your mind.
...Or slice ya in half.
Jedi ftw.
religiousjedi @ Oct 7th 2007 3:24AM
Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Btw, God Mode made me laugh for the second week in a row, so it got my vote!
Steve @ Oct 7th 2007 12:05AM
Can anyone explain to me where the joke was in the RvB comic? Or is it just winning because it references Halo? The only one I thought was funny was the Moblins one.
Tim Harding @ Oct 7th 2007 1:32AM
Steve,
It's a reference to Microsoft and Bungie parting ways. But I'm glad you liked our comic!
Steve @ Oct 7th 2007 1:35AM
Oh, OK. I've heard about that, I just didn't connect the dots.
Yourself @ Oct 7th 2007 12:13AM
I really have no clue why I still read these abominations, or why anyone else does, for that matter.
ferrarimanf355 @ Oct 7th 2007 1:32AM
I voted for God Mode to spite the scum over at NeoGAF...
Sieged Eagle @ Oct 7th 2007 2:24AM
This guy and that epic MI3 singing scene(along with several variations) makes my choice wether pirates are better than ninjas, or viceversa.
Man, this weekly webcomic wrapup disappointed me this time, not even PA made me laugh like usual. I only liked 2 of them, which were Godmode and Slackerz, but I liked Godmode's comic more, so it gets my vote, just like last week.
ThornedVenom @ Oct 7th 2007 6:47AM
In Penny Arcade: is Mario having problems because Joystiq users use his face as avatar? xD
hvnlysoldr @ Oct 7th 2007 2:03PM
Just because I made half a dozen Mario avatars doesn't mean I'm responsible for getting him fired. (I hope to high heavens I'm not)
Benjamin Breeg @ Oct 7th 2007 11:07AM
OMG! Controversy! Somebody compared Master Chief to Jesus!
Does anybody else suspect they wanted their comic to cause a lot of stir by doing that, so that maybe they could get more viewers and stuff? Its obvious they failed, but does anyone else think that's what they had in mind?
Mr Khan @ Oct 7th 2007 1:48PM
Methinks Actiontrip is trying to incite a modern-day John Lennon "bigger than Jesus" controversy
Didn't find it funny either way though
James @ Oct 7th 2007 10:23PM
You guys outta stick in comics from www.comicspresso.com in the roundup. It's a new webcomic group with a bunch of different artists, most of which are about videogames.
