Nintendo just insists on coming up with the gay names this generation

Wii was bad enough, even though wii totally got used to it

But honestly, your guess sounds about right

Different casual pack-in fun, away from Wii Sports

but we'll see how well it works

I try to love you Nintendo.

But then you go and do stuff like this.
The "wii" name defiantly isn't as bad as this.

Personally I like the name Wii Play n Learn. Though maybe if it is aimed at preschoolers it might have something akin to a younger version of Wii Sports and Big Brain Academy? No reason kids couldn't understand the Wii, it replicates on the screen what you do in real life.

Nintendo doesn't love the hardcore gamer anymore! First they name their console the Wii and then they try to make me learn stuff! I thought video games were about losing brain cells not utilizing them! This has gone on too far...

*ahem*
Now that that foolishness has passed, kudos to Nintendo for creating their own bundle (if that be the case). All of the bundles last holiday season usually involved buying some horrible game(s) just so you could get a console. At least if they make their own this time, you won't have to worry about how you're going to eBay off the waste to make some of your money back.

On a slight side note, are people really still pissed off about the name of the console? Man, I got over that about a month or so after the announcement. Apparently some must be, since there are two comments related to how "bad" it is. I just figured that by now people would stop caring about what a console is called and talk about how well it plays, the latter being the more important of the two in my book.

Um, I thought Nintendo always targeted the family and child audiences...

Well, the question may arise "They've got (name one of the trifecta here) why not make that into a bundle?"

The answer is that games like Galaxy, Brawl, MP3, etc, are guaranteed to sell on their own. I wouldn't have bought Wii Sports if it hadn't come with the Wii, but i enjoy it now that i have it. Games like Wii Play and Big Brain Academy are PERFECT for bundle-zation anyway, and it broadens the appeal from the Sports package

they'll net the same crowd that went apeshit crazy over the DS for Brain Age

I'm pretty sure the "marketing to younger gamers" thing was sarsasm...

At least I hope it was.

I still can't figure out for the life of me how adults are all excited about Smash Bros and Super Mario Galaxy.

I mean, really?

What about those two games makes them unappealing to adults, Drew?

Well, they're not generic FPS shooters set in either WWII or space. Or the same sports game of the past three years with a different overpaid athlete on the cover. That's what adults apparently want to play.
