- No other hardware combinations have been announced yet beyond the standard (guitar, drum, mic) bundle. And yes, the bass guitar is just a second guitar controller which you probably have lying around ...
- ... because Harmonix will keep an "open platform philosophy" and games will be compatible with third-party controllers "that conform to the various platform controller standards."
- If you're short on guitars but want to play head to head, the online play will be both cooperative and competitive.
- The Xbox 360 gee-tar will come with a USB hub (remember the guitar in the bundle is wired).
- A Wii version has not been announced ... yet.

because it should be wireless using the systems built in wireless functionality not a lame dongle like GH3 ps3. I hope rock band knows this, but if not they will now need to market a usb hub or recommend one for the 40 gig users.

Is the PS3 Guitar bluetooth or does it use a GH3-style (ugly) dongle?

I am still wanting an official confirmation that Rock Bands Guitar will work with Guitar Hero III.
not too concerned about the guitar being wireless, but its price still is up there.

What I want to know is how the online infrastructure will work. Chris brought up a question on a previous podcast that was something along the lines of "how will lag be factored into the online experience?"
Any millisecond off for a rhythm game will totally screw up your game, and the biggest thing I'm wondering about is how will the internet "line up" (I don't know how the internet works, other than there are tubes involved) everyone's connection so you can actually hear the singer singing along *in time* to the music, and not 60 milliseconds off. The only way that I can foresee that happening is if the singer always hosts.
Summary: How will the singer sound online to everyone else?

I am hoping that for online play I won't have to listen to other singers.

Well, seeing as Harmonix has an open platform philosophy and their games will be compatible with third-party controllers that conform to the various platform controller standards, I would assume that their current game would be backward-compatible with their old microphone.

Yeah, me too, but you know what they say about assumption...
It might make some pissed off consumers come release day.
