Every site I visit on the internet reports this stuff, and everyone one seems to come to the conclusion that Sony messed up this generation. And every site has a handful of Sony fanboys who claim that said site is "biased" whenever they report these things.

Face it guys, you can't win 'em all. Sony fumbled. Maybe PS4 will be better.

The 4.89 million people with PS3s I thinkn disagree...
The developers of the 83 games out there disagree.....
The 1.72 million that bought RFoM and the 1.26 million people that bought Motorstorm disagree....

Almost a year and 83 games with an average 72.75 ratings :]

For how long has the 360 been out? oh, more games (263 games), but talk about quality...70.10% average rating....and its supposed to be the FULL GAMING EXPERIENCE...guess not...

while we are at it, average rating of Wii games, with 85 games, the average rating of Wii games is 62.72%

PS3 is being categorized as a multimedia platform bymany of you, yet has the best average rating...hahaha

Yeah, and how many of those 360 games have gotten 10s from more than one media outlet? I can think of 3 off the top of my head.

Now how many PS3 games can we say the same for?

Fails as a gaming console?!?!

Vinny the biggest trend I see on these blogs are a bunch of armchair analysts like you and Marty who think they know something about the game business but really do not.

And like most ignorant fanboys they fail to realize that more competition is better for all gamers.

Somehow I doubt you are in the market for either Singsar or a PS3 so maybe you and your pal Marty should consider just GTFO.

See you in '08 it's gonna be even better than '07. Well, for Sony at least.

And everyone of your posts seem to blast the ps3. Don't call someone out if you don't want it to happen to you.

@ Noshino

OMG! You mean the Xbox 360, with 3 times as many games as PS3 has, is only averaging 2% ratings difference overall than PS3 games?

That's it, my 360 is going in the garbage! I would much rather have that 2% to boast about than 200 extra games to consider playing.

WTF?!

I would rather spend 200 bucks more on a console which, like many out there say, its beind advertised as a multimedia (no one denies the fact that the multimedia capabilities of the PS3 are great and welcome) device and YET its games are rated in an average 2% than the 360 which has been almost 1 year longer and that still hasn't been able to (officially) improve its craptastic hardware...

....I don't care about the quantity of the games, I rather have quality, and that does show on the ratings, or what, you think that the facts are wrong too?

...say otherwise, and you are SERIOUSLY blind....

Please, you're a douche... By your argument, if a console released ONE game with a great rating, that beats all other consoles because ratings are most important. How many top-rated games are on 360 vs. PS3 again? Right...

Guess I hit a nerve. "Sony elitist prick" oh wow that is really funny. More disinformation, what a big surprise. Go read my posts, oh wow I entered an Engadget contest and recommended Killzone:Liberation as a good game. Ha ha ha.

As stated many times I like good games and play them, the rest of it doesn't matter. The only current system or handheld I don't own and play is the 360, which I plan to buy once MS sorts its hardware issues out.

Thanks for linking to my comments though, for obvious reasons I won't be returning the favour. Enjoy Singstar on your PS3 when it comes out! Maybe then you'll have business commenting in a thread like this one, troll. Thanks for the laughs Vinny.

Hate to be the voice of rationality, but being in the retail side of the business I have to say that this sucks and is somewhat distressing. Sing Star is actually a very popular title, and that is one less title to sell on a system that, quite frankly, doesn't sell very well. I basically sit on 8-10 ps3 units at any given time (sold a whopping 3 in Sept compared to 37 xb360's, and yes I'm aware Halo came out). That's over $4000 in inventory that just kills my bottom line.

From the retail perspective I can tell you that Sony does not look to be positioned well this Holiday. Uncharted looks great and is from a solid developer but it's not the kind of branding that moves systems. COD4 is the only title on the system this Fall/Holiday that has strong brand recognition and truly looks nex-gen - and it's a multiplatform title. Ratchet and Clank maybe, but it's so not the demographic that the ps3 sells to.

In terms of software sales (where the money is buy the way, not the hardware) it's all about 360 titles, DS titles, and the two big ones from Nintendo for the Wii (Galaxy/SSB) this Holiday. Talking to one of the execs about the ps3 and how we should approach it he said 'it's not even a blip on the radar, focus on what's selling'.

We all know how the Wii is going to sell, and from my experience it looks like it's gonna be about a 3 to 1 ratio with the 360/ps3. That's a second consecutive Holiday Sony comes up short if that comes to fruition. And if that happens Sony has dug themselves a deep, deep hole going into year 3 with Gears of War 2 looming Holiday '08.

Good luck Sony, you're gonna need it.
