Unreal Tournament 3! Unreal Tournament 3! The sequel to Unreal Tournament 2004, which was preceded by Unreal Tournament 2003. Three cheers for Unreal Tournament 3! Epic's grand poobah Mark Rein recently posted on the game's official forums, dropping some details regarding the upcoming "beta demo" scheduled to come out within "the next two weeks." Rein revealed that the teaser will contain online multiplayer and instant action bot play; a perfect aperitif for the diehard UT fans. Non-alcoholic for the under 21 set.
It's certainly good to hear things are still on track for the PC version of the game, especially when the PS3 version is expected to slip into next year.

It's funny that they're going to release the PC and PS3 versions independantly instead of together.
This would seem to imply they're looking to recoup some costs via the PC version. Thing is, if you buy the PC version, isn't that likely to kill some PS3 sales of the game?

Not for me. I'm buying both. I'll buy the PC version for the toolkits but let's put it this way, I spent between 40-60 hours a week on a PC. When I game, a couch is involved, a soda in reach, and a cat in my lap. While I respect the PC gaming community, because PC is my job, I don't relax on it.

recoup the PC version? The PC version is going to do the best overall by far. UT is absolutely huge in the PC gaming community. I think UT could easily stand on it's own with a PC only release, but in these days, everything is multiplatform regardless.
If there's one thing that Sony's done right, it's how they handled UT and their whole attitude towards mods and the mouse/keyboard option. In fact, as primarily a PC gamer, I'm thinking about getting the PS3 version as well just to have the option of playing it everywhere in the house. Yes, i'm a UT freak.

I suppose an early release of the toolkit is expecting too much.... I want to work on my Nephilim for this game but have NOT idea of the workflow or requirements for character mods.

Can.Not.Wait.
Me and my friends have just busted out UT99, UT2k3 and UT2k4 and completed them on godlike in the past week because we were so hyped about this game.
Just seriously cannot wait.

I use to think this was just going to be a base engine for other games to work off. So Epic has finally got to working this into a new sequel. Too bad I've become full console gamer thanks to Halo 3.
I do wonder what PC specs would be required to run this game, I've giving up being up to date with PC hardware long ago. I still use AGP.

This is sweet. Too bad my PC is a piece of crap and can barely handle UT2004.

I love UT demos. I'll be the final judge if UT3 isn't just some graphically upgraded version of the previous ones.
I take UT3 over Crysis anyday. Fucking multiplayer carnage FTW.
