"We can't resist pondering, though, if the Wii version will re-use assets from the previous PSP games in the series."

I have a feeling it will.

"Due to high development cost of titles for PS3, we have decided to switch the platform to which we release our Monster Hunter 3 title," said Capcom's Katsuhiko Ichii in a report from Thompson Financial News"

Translation: Yeah, we really don't want to spend that much money on a game that won't really do well on the ps3.

I know this may sound like a flame, but it's the truth. Why spend so much money on a game that might not do well on the ps3 when you can make a cheaper version that will sell like crazy?

Either that or the art direction they would take on the game just would look like last gen on the PS3, but since people expect that on the Wii it becomes acceptable. I anticipate the series will make an appearance on the PS3 but it will only happen after they have some better established game engines to decrease the cost of development.

It should go more like this:

We are Capcom. We have no balls. We will just stick to the console that has sold the most units. Plus we wont have to make new tech.

Thanks.

Pussies!

You mean like all the games they have made for 360 since it has sold the most units in Japan?

Companies like to make money. They aren't making this game for the PS3 because they are afraid they can't make money on it.

For them to make a game that looks PS3 worthy, it will cost them more money than they can make back due to PS3's disappointing sales and userbase.

You can say it is due to development costs. You can say it is due to userbase (i.e. expected sales). You can say it is because the same game will make more money on another system.

Really, though, the bottom line is that all are true. This is the same reason so many other companies have treated the PS3 like a 3rd tier system. You just can't make money on the platform right now compared to the others, so why bother?

People keep delaying games hoping things will turn.

You mean like how they made most of their games on the weaker PS2, than the stronger GameCube and Xbox?

I have a feeling this is hilarious.

Look, this is simply gonna be the greatest year in gaming ever.

Halo 3
Orange Box
Sonic and Mario in the same games (2)

Notice how none of that has to do with PS3. Except Orange Box, which will probably get delayed 3 times, then cancelled. Or released with 20 frames per second.

Yeah Wing, that was completely Sony hateful.

Uncharted looks like it will be great. Unreal is still going to be coming out for it soon, and they have other stuff down the pipeline that looks good.
Haze, Killzone 2, Ratchet and Clank, I mean c'mon, things are looking pretty decent.

The 360 has me aching for some Mass Effect action, not much else though.

The Wii is the worst though RIGHT NOW. Too many kids games, not enough games for my tastes. Smash bros will be good but now we may be looking at a delay on that. That mario/sonic olympics game looks very childish and I doubt it will be much fun beyond a couple of hours.

Myself the Halo 1 fan, I didn't like Halo 3. But pretty much everyone else did.
But Orange Box (which is killer awesome) and Smash Bros Brawl are going to be giant.

So I agree with you. Summed up nicely too! There isn't a momentous occasion with the PS3 or PSP, even the DS, this year.

Go PCWii! Perhaps.

What about Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Ace Combat 6, Ratchet and Clank Future, Guitar Hero 3 ect?

Tell me how a game about the Olympics, no matter whom it features, is better then any of these practically epic franchises. Not to mention new titles like..

Rock Band, Uncharted, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Haze, Area 51, Dark Sector ect.

If anything the Wii has gotten the short stick of the games this year.

Worst thing? They've got Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Super Mario Galaxy(I haven't been a fan of Mario since Super Mario World, but this one looks like alot of fun), Super Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros Brawl coming out in the next six months. Not to mention the new Medal of Honor(I think) which is said to have controls equal to that of MP3, as well as 32 player online multiplay, and the other third party games coming out in the coming months.

Well, to be honest Fire Emblem is looking a bit craptastic since it's pretty close to a straight GC port with no Wii pointer functionality (which is just straight up dumb imo).

However, I'm keeping an eye on the Wii release list and there's six must buy games for me in November alone. The quality games are there amidst the shovelware.

Oh, and the Medal of Honor game should friggin rock. Unless Epic can bring some glory back to the UT franchise with this iteration than it's probably the only online FPS I'm going to bother with this winter.

I think it's becoming kinda lame that people down-vote Fernando for just being Fernando now. I mean, all he was doing was asking Rubang B about his cool moustache. Had anyone else done it, it would've been fine. Leave Fernando alone until he does something to DESERVE IT.

So release it for PSP/ PS2, ditch lame unimaginative Wiimote mechanics for (wait for it!) fishing and sword fighting, and there's some cheap development and a well received game, right Capcom? If you're releasing it on a last gen' machine like Wii, why not put it on the others you're already familiar with?

Anyway, as far as next gen' goes, it'll be MHunter 4 for me, if indeed that's the one destined for PS3. A Wii-PS3 port is just too much of a compromise for me, when the series should be moving forwards for next gen' machines, not sitting still with added waggle as a sweetener.

I can't really see grandma and soccer moms buying this on the wii.

The hard core crowd(who will be buying this) is around half a million wii owners. Proof is in the sales of MP3 at around 481,000 sold to date.
It's pretty sad that a AAA title for the wii can't even sell a million copies.

This is mainly a move for Japan. MH doesn't sell too great in the US to any demographic. And it will sell insanely in Japan. Sony should have bought exclusivity for it. It would have moved units, in Japan at least.
