Nah. That doesn't suck. Besides, as a casual gamer, I've finished it (solo) on Easy, Normal and Heroic. Now just doing Legendary on Co-op.
What WILL suck is when you finish it on Legendary, the ending is a little different and some co-op buddy decides to hit the A button and skip it! (arrrggg!!)
Now, where is CoD4?

~SPOILERS~

When you finish the game and watch all the credits without pressing A or anything, you can see the final cutscene which clearly shows that Master Chief didnt die. Instead he and Cortana stay "lost" in space.

You don't have to finish the whole game on Legendary to see the full ending... you can just finish the very last part on Legendary, which is actually pretty easy to do.

Also, this ad doesn't really spoil the game... it doesn't say whether MC died *in* battle or whether he died at some point after the war, as it takes place 43 years after the fact.

~SPOILERS~

They fall to a planet and some bad music starts to kick in. So something happens after MC lands on that planet we just don't know yet.

Plus this is 30 years after the fact if MC keeps getting cryogenicly froozen then he could come back 40 or 50 years from now depending on how long the battle and how fast the ship is...

NO that wasn't halo. Get your eyes checked buddy. It was oynx, a flying shield planet made by the UNSC. Currently the only other spartans are living on it, fighting the flood and covenant. 3 of them are alive atm.

You know darn well that planet belongs to the most ruthless villain a Halo player could ever face
The Smurfs. You'll find out for sure in Halos 4, 5, and 6.

though 3 Spartans would work awesome for co-op.

No, they were falling onto another planet... It's not a Halo, there's a very clear inside of the planet.

Most people believe it to be Onyx, the planet of the Forerunners... Which is where Marathon takes place. Marathon takes place 200 years after Halo 3, which being in cryo sleep wouldn't pose an issue. Bungie has also said before during the Halo 1 era that the protagonist in Halo and Marathon is the same guy. Whether or not he has an adventure during that 200 year gap is TBD though...

Commercial sucks though. Kind of doesn't match up with the story - Since there was never a coffin in the ending ceremony. There was also a site to commemorate him at marked with a large piece of ship, so the site should still be known IMO. *shrugs*

There was a coffin. It was the big thing with the marking (being deliberately vague here) scrawled on it.

Marathon and Halo are completely unrelated. They are not in the same Universe. Bungie has made this clear many times. There is no reason for them to be connected. Just because Halo has AIs and Rampancy (Halo never actually had any Rampancy, not in the Marathon sense of the term) and a few other tributes to Marathon does not make it the same Universe.

Alex Seropian once said in an interview: "I don't think you ever find that out, but [Master Chief is] the same character [as Marathon's player character]."

What were you saying?

Also, I didn't think that was a coffin... I thought that was the half of the ship that made it through the portal, the part that the Arbiter crashed in. They used that as the grave site, and I guess in philosophical terms it could be seen as a coffin... But it was in no means an actual coffin.

I'm pretty sure that Master Chief isn't the Security Guard.

I remember that Bungie has at least once said that he wasn't in a recent interview

There are boss fights... There's no super health meter or anything, but IMO fighting a Scarab would be considered a boss fight - as well as fighting Truth, and the Orb thing. Not sure exactly what you're talking about...

They aren't HARD boss fights, but Halo isn't hard anyways. I mean, you die, all you do is restart back a few minutes. Overall I wish they made the game like 3 degrees crazier.

Boss fights are one of the things that are WRONG with gaming. Contrived force encounters where doors suddenly close and bosses make predetermined movements were you have to figure out the pattern in order to attack. Then repeat until you get right.

Wrong wrong wrong. Can we move forward in game design? Please?

Agreed. I kept waiting for the insane battle from the commercials to start—guess I'll just keep waiting. I don't remember feeling like I was in the middle of an epic war for 99% of the game. At most, I felt like I was babysitting the Marine's Short Bus Troop through several battles as I tried to not kill the idiots myself before they ran headlong into enemy fire.
And fighting a scarab does not qualify as a boss fight, or at least not a very good one. You just attack it's weak point for massive damage and move on, easy as you please.

True, but normally there's a little more lead up to it, not just 5 seconds of shooting at one spot. There wasn't exactly a tricky pattern that had to be figured out and followed when it came to the scarabs beyond get on, fire, get off.
Besides which, I was trying to be a bit sarcastic...

Best video game advertisements ever. Only those who are truly into the story and characters will appreciate it. It's nice to see video game commercials that don't have raging music and loud announcers. This series of ads feels like another piece of the story instead of the ad campaign.

I was actually kind of lost after the ending. It was really open ended until they have the cutscene at the grave. Admittedly, I didn't beat it on the hardest level, but am I the only one who didn't think it even felt like an ending? With each of these commercials, it feels further from the reality of the game, and to stress the single player story aspect of a game that's 90% multi-player... it seems about as genuine as one of those ones with screaming guitars and CG.

Oh thank god, I was wondering WTF this whole BS ad campaign was for when none of this stuff ever happened in the game. I was expecting master chief to give himslef up at any moment of the game and it ruined it. Glad they tied some ends a lil bit.

If you havn't finished the game then don't watch the video thats all there is to say. And for someone who just finished Halo, I can say that honestly if you thought the game needed boss battles play it on a higher difficulty, and I have to say what I know understand that I don't like is the fact that I can't watch cutscenes after viewing them during the game without play it again after pressing a accidently at the end

Don't some people think that the comment might be taken badly by those fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. I mean the US government is lying about how people have died in real life, and that went over badly. Now Bungie is literally saying, you died so what it is expected...dont expect any of us to really celebrate your service to our country. (Personally i know this isn't what they meant but the media and people are idiots)

We have to remember theese ad campaing is from the UNSC point of view... NO ONE but the players know that MC is NOT DEaD... the soldiers and the rest of the planet believe he is dead... and this commercial is good... because he tells us that they say is MIA to deny that he is KIA (wich is what they believe).... =)
