George did it. And so did Beth. Now, as forecast, it's Perrin's turn. Nintendo Vice President of Marketing Perrin Kaplan has announced her retirement from the company after 15 years of service.
Kaplan did not give an explicit reason for her departure, saying only, "I finally will be leaving Nintendo at the end of the year. Until then, I am focused on getting a great transition team in place and handling all of my normal responsibilities as well." It had been speculated that the marketing exec trio -- now all officially on course to retire -- would leave Nintendo after plans to relocate the company's PR headquarters from Washington to San Francisco and New York were revealed in May. But this theory remains pure speculation. Think about it: there are plenty of other circumstances that could have prompted Kaplan's resignation ... well, actually, we can only think of one.

They don't want to move. You set up home in a place for 15 years, moving isn't really an option for some people.

Mr. Grant, I'm not sure I understand your point.
I find it a little strange that these bigwigs are leaving thier company when it's doing better than it ever has before. I just find it just a bit... odd...

OOOOOH got it... My bad...
I wonder if my cousin-inlaw knows one of these bigwigs, he works at Nintendo in Redmond. I remember his son about 3 years back had all these GBA games with "Not For Resale" stickers on them. I wonder where he got those...:D
I was gonna hit him up to get me a Wii because there were none to be found. But I got lucky and a friend found one for me.

Well, for her age.
And heh, I'm glad I'm not the only person who ever picked up a creepy flirty vibe between her and Matt Cassamassina in all their interviews. Especially in video interviews you could see it in the body language.

$20 says a Joystiq article with any picture of a female cannot escape at least 3 comments on whether or not she is hot.

I don't get it. What did Matt Cassamassina have to do with her losing her job? Did he say something about her evil plans in his blog or something? Or was she really the one posting on his blog and Nintendo found out and fired her for talking bad about her company and fellow employees?
I'm sorry, I'm at a loss here. I don't get it.
