This new entry is from the "Plasma Grenade stick" family, and shows a no look lob hurdle across a level, attach to recently-spawned, soon-to-be-furious Spartan just trying to get his man cannon on. He is then, in the parlance of the street, pwned. Watch and enjoy.

he probably did that loads of times in the game cos he new it was a spawn point, and since he killed the guy, he knew the guy would respawn and so he threw two grenades to be sure. one of them hit.
so not really a set-up, but definitely not a fluke.

And now that everybody knows to do it, say goodbye to this map. You can reload on plasmas easily.

I'm going to say that he both practiced it, and had a friend help by taking the nade.
Why do I say it's a setup? He specifically has a part of the video that says "To prove it's not a setup..." of the guy spawning. That's all well and good, but it's alot more likely that the guy's friend said "Ok, do it, do it, I'm on the lift!".
And yes, we are sick of seeing these. The one where it went across the map, hit a grav lift, and then flew onto the guy was a true non-setup, but this video is bogus.

The guy couldn't have said that he was on the lift, and to throw it...You get to watch him spawn, and the guy throws the grenades well before he spawns...

I'm afraid you're correct BananaBoat, otherwise he wouldn't have backtracked the way he did.

Wow that movie saving utility is more badass than I thought. What a cheap (and awesome) bastard though. It reminds me of when I memorized the respawn spot order for GoldenEye and exactly how close I could get without it forcing them to skip that respawn. I could win a match 20 - 0. But then I didn't have friends until I learned to play nice.

Of course you'll get a vid like that the way he's tossing grenades. He probably does that in every single match he plays and gets killed dozens of times while he's trying to set up a shot like that.
Anyone else feel like there was a massive lack of players in that vid?

The kid practiced hitting that lift. They probably restricted the spawn points so he knew the guy would spawn right there and then timed it.
That, or he practiced hitting the lift just so it would send the nades onto the center platform. He went to launch a nade off the man cannon and got lucky.
The other one was way cooler, though.

How are people saving these videos from Bungie.net? The only option it ever gives me is to download it to my 360.

You have to have a way to stream the signal from your xbox to your computer and save it on your computer. Video converters and some digital camcorders give you this ability.

Yeah, that was lame. That wasn't a blind toss "no way!" type of thing ... it was a "odds are eventually this will pwn someone, I'm so clever ... chuckle" lame attempt to pass off a "leet" kill.

I think it's staged because you can set the spawn points in Forge.

Even with Forge allowing someone to set spawn points where they want it still doesn't guarantee that he'll be able to toss the plasma grenades in the proper angle to have it land right on the lift. Then have it get lifted up at the proper moment to have someone using the lift to get stuck to it.

I had a sweet kill once on the Narrows. I was shooting it out with someone and backed into the man cannon while tossing one last grenade. As I flew to the other side, the grenade killed the dude and knocked him into the man cannon. I didn't realize he was DOA and I started popping sniper rounds at his dead body flying through the air at me. I landed and he landed on top of me along with all his gear.
I dunno, it seemed cool at the time.

Awesome, just awesome. I don't have H3 yet, but I'm really impressed with how quickly movie saves are becoming a killer feature for it. Very smart way to integrate YouTube into your game's shelf life (though it sounds like the integration is a little harder than it should be). I'll be curious to see how Sony's Singstar movies meet the challenge.

"He just sticky-spammed the man-cannon."
Hi-larious!
That has to be one of the best lines which can be mis-interpreted ever!
Astrozombie is my new hero. I can't wait to use that line in public, tomorrow at Starbucks "I'm really tired, I was up all night perfecting sticky spamming the man cannon."

Since the Forge gives you the ability to redesign where items are placed on a map (including spawn points)... bungie should make an effort to move them around periodically so people can't memorize them. Not to say they are, but i remember some pretty questionable crap happening in Halo 2 that made it appear possible to memorize spawn points. It's cheapass and all it says is that you have way too much time on your hands and no life outside of Halo. Fun game and cool vid though.

It definately wasn't blind luck. Did nobody notice how he aimed up to the wall then went straight up. Sure he proabbly did want to just throw some plasmas into the man-cannon and got lucky. But definately wasnt just a lucky thow that it went into the cannon.

The blue guy didn't see the plasma grenade because it's the same color as the jump *facepalm* The maker of the video probably grenade spams whenever he can.
