I really hope that SquareEnix doesn't elect to use voice acting in the game. Something about it seems to take the mystic quality from the game. It did it with Final Fantasy X, and it will do it with Final Fantasy IV, if they let it.
It's the same reason that I hope they never do voice acting in the Zelda series.

The whole situation with Square's marketing tactics just tears me in two. On one hand I'm peeved that they keep pumping out remakes to take advantage of my weak fangirl/boy integrity for lack of better originality. But on the other I just can't help but be excited for this stunning rendition of one of two of my favorite Final fantasy titles. It's like a sore in the back of your mouth that you're obsessively tonguing even though it hurts...

Wow, what a gorgeous video. I am curious about whether there'll be voice acting. Not sure though if it'd be a good idea. I can understand why some fans would be wary of a remake, but I like the idea of finally being able to support Square Enix for their older titles since I never had an SNES and had to resort to emulation, hahaha.

I wonder if I should sell FF3 or something so I can get this since I haven't really played it, hahaha. FF3 is cute, but it lacks a real storyline. But this is just an impression from like an hour of gameplay...

Neko: Zelda really needs voice acting to join the 21st century. I tried playing through Twilight Princess, but got bored of constantly scrolling through text.

I can understand not giving a voice to Link so that isn't ruined for the player, but there is no excuse for not providing voices for everyone else.

I'm not against voice acting in any way, in fact, I like it. What I don't like is Final Fantasy, didn't like the games on the NES and still don't. Played through X as a last bastion of "why does everyone love this series so much" to no avail. It was okay at the very best. The music was one of the worst parts. People praise Nobuo Uematsu's work, but X's soundtrack was putting me to sleep the entire time. Which is about what I expect from this game.
