Hmm, I can't imagine how you'd boost for EXP, unless you went into Rumble Pit with 5 other people in your party or did "Something" in Lone Wolves. I won't say that something because it belittles all others efforts in the game and I hope noone else says what the something is. I just want my damn levels, can't seem to level up no matter how many consecutive matches I win. Got like 200-ish exp and only at level 14. Kill to death ratio is 2.19 and yeah I'm just baffeled as to how I'm suppose to advance.

Befor my 360 broke I was like lvl 15 in slyr playing with my friend who is A lvl 1. So boosting shouldn't be monetered but anyone between A 30-50 shouldn't be aloud to play with anyone under A 20..

Its the Rogue helmet. You get it after you get the spartan officer medal.

Noo, EXP boosting, not rank boosting. EXP is what determines what little emblem you have next to your name. The way you boost, as I was shown last night, is that someone goes into a game and leaves the xbox on. After 20 seconds they are automatically sent into another game. They don't play, but if the team wins they get EXP. If they don't win, they don't care.

What i hate most is achievement whores. Every fricking game i enter someone has to say, "will you guys help me get overkill or something". Achievements show you have skill! If you cant get them through normal game play you don't deserve to have them.

Boost all you want suckers, your in game play will expose your real skill level anyway. Besides boosting exp only places those suckers with real skilled players. Powned!! muhahahhahahhaaaa

also buried at that bottom of that Bungie update was the fact that the Recon armor permutation was not unlockable by players. this little tidbit after more than 13,000 posts in the thread dedicated to finding out how to unlock it. hundreds of theories, thousands of flames and lots of hope and pessimism, and for what? nothing.
what makes it worse is not that you can't get the armor, but that Bungie employess gave clues that the armor was unlockable and there was hope for people searching for the key to unlocking it. that's kind of a dick move. they let it go on and on and could have just said that it was a no-go. instead, they let people waste their their time and lead us on.
that's not cool and way below what I expected from Bungie.

Good thing I use game saves and boost my gamerscore instead of boosting on Halo.

Cheaters basically make gamerscore points and in-game rankings pointless. This isn't one of those cases though, because the highest you can get to without actual skill is Gunnery Sergeant rank 4, which, if you get to, proves to everyone that you are a complete fraud.
I might just be a Lieutenant Second Grade, but atleast I got there fair and square. What is more unfortunate, is people paying their (good) friends to get their score to 30, at which point they can rank boost themselves to Major. It just goes to show you that there is basically no pot of gold at the end of the Halo 3 rainbow, and that you shouldn't take it very seriously.

i was just curious as to how this was done, and i looked it up. pretty silly stuff involving duct tape. just goes to show that duct tape can fix just about anything ... if you can't duct-it, fuck it.
but seriously, who really cares? you can get as many ace cards, stars, and eagles as you want, but you won't be good unless you put in the time.

I already stopped playing Halo 3 because the Bungie servers cannot handle the load. Its too bad when 3-4 people playing coop campaign have to slow 25-50% of the time with less than 1 fps framerate.

It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that the cheating/glitching/boosting/achievement whoring would commence upon release of H3.
This happens to all online games that have online ranks/achievements.
The best solution I have seen is to have none of these things for online play. Matchmaking can be done without showing the player where they rank. Let it all be behind the scenes so they can't be used for bragging rights and then nobody will want to game the system.
Alternately, allow these things, but do not allow others to see them. The player would know his/her own stats/rank, but other players would not see it so again, little reason to game the system.

Pretty sure that's YOUR connection buddy, I have never experienced lag like that, or even lag close to that.

Why would you exp boost, your just setting yourself up to play against some good players and because you've been boosting and not playing the game properly and earning some skill/experience your just going to get pwned by other players who earned their title.

This was soo true last night! I was in a party of 4 and our ranks were 15, 12, 8, 8 with only me being an officer and we had to play people who were officers with the door, majors, people who had 18-20 skill ratings and we clobbered them. It was definitely a letdown since we were looking forward to some good competition.

what's the big deal about EXP boosting? if someone wants to take all that time to get a slightly fancier medal, and it doesn't affect matchmaking... who cares?
it reminds me of doing ridiculous things in other games to get achievements. it affects nobody else, so let them have it i say

i hate two types of people on halo3 ranked matchmaking, 1: people who join team games and dont play, 2: people who ask you to let them get acheivements, i dont have overkill but atleast i dont go round asking people to let me have it. its ment to be a "acheivment" somethnig you do on your own and feel proud about.
