I thought that said Atrocity Golf for a second there and instantly thought "SOLD!" But then I read closer and thought "The best name for a golf game ever goes unused... I guess I can just keep it as a descriptor for Tiger Woods."

Alacrity Golf is MUCH funnier than Atrocity Golf.
"I feel somewhat agitated as I line up this putt. Is it zeal? Is it fervor? No! It is alacrity!"

@brennan friend of mine mistakenly bought one, not worth it. it's purely a gimmick, as is vii. he ic constantly complaining about the lack of grown person games. glad i had 360 before and bought ps3 instead of a wii when they came out. metroid was pretty cool but other than that what is there that is "hardcore"?

The only gimmick I see is Shagittarius. A sad, predictable, attention-starved gimmick.

I would have laughed Shag, had it not been completely predictable that one of your sony trolls would come into the thread and say it.

The Wii has what: Paper Mario and Metroid? I love my Nintendo games, but those aren't the games that make me finally purchase a console. Galaxy, Smash, and Zelda might.

Wow, several people apparently 'lol'-ing and '+1'-ing what is possibly the most imperceptive, clumsy attempt at a joke I've yet seen on this site. That is truly unfortunate.
Let's see Shag, you clever guy you, how your supposedly hilarious jab missed its target. Oh, perhaps I should begin with the fact that the ambiguity you so boldly believe yourself to have introduced was already written into the article, in its constant suspension of any specific reference as to which console of the two corresponds to the positive remarks and which the negative. In fact, this two paragraph blurb of an article did nothing but make that one joke - Can you discern the gimmick from the quality console? Ha, how hilarious that the author is repeating the now obligatory Wii=gimmick line, but in a surreptitious and playful manner. Unfortunately Joystiq's articles often contribute to the longevity of this kind of remark, as can be seen from their repeated references to two Gamecubes duct-taped together. Even if done in the safety of a joke, bringing that back over and over again in any form gives it unnecessary currency.
But luckily we have you to come in and make the obvious jokes so much more painfully obvious and humorless. Where would we be without you?

Sounds like a dirty porn movie.
I think my favorite game would be Fry Egg. I wonder what the game is? I mean, I can't tell with a name like that. Am I supposed to battle some evil wizard or something?
Seriously though, I wonder if that game consists of frying an egg over and over again. Those crazy Chinese gamers, what will they come up with next?

Wow, there's such a thing as imitation, and then there's this. Vii takes things to a whole new level, that's for sure. I wonder what Nintendo thinks of this Wii knock off.

Hearts and Minds though, I think still goes to the Wii

It can't be two Neo Geos duct taped together, that would put it in the vague price range of "having to take out a second mortgage"

There are a billion chinese. Nintendo will never be able to produce enough Wii's for them all. So, short of Japan starting a thermonuclear war with China (which I am sure Nintendo is lobbying for) Vi is gonna sell and well, albeit in china only. IP rights FTL, unfortunately.

If about 10 million don't have electricity, then that means about 990 million do. That's about one percent of the Chinese population.

Whether it's 1% or 10%, 10 million people is a hell of a lot.
