Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.

Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa.
That was a joke. (Ha ha.) Fat chance.

Anyway, this cake is great.

It's so delicious and moist.

Look at me still talking when there's science to do.

When I look up there, it makes me GlaD I'm not you.

And there's research to be done
On the people who are still alive.

Valve hasn't released an update to the Source SDK yet to support Portal, but I suspect that this is forthcoming in the next month. I agree - when the custom levels start rolling out, we're going to see some mindbending puzzles here.

im really hoping there are some mods and user made levels for this game. since its the same engine as Half=Life 2 it wouldnt be that hard. im guessing any user made levels would just be insane!

I'd be really disappointed if Portal become more like an FPS shoot-fest. Seems to me that this game is ingenious because it uses FPS elements to do something more interesting than just blast enemies.

well yeah, it's a puzzle game

but it'd be cool for half life 3 to have a portal gun addon or whatnot to the grav gun, so you could port enemies into traps or whatnot, or port yourself to their flank, etc

I think we will see it in Episode 3 (Half-Life 2 Episode 1 through 3 actually is Half-Life 3, just torn apart into three parts).

I'm having a lot of fun with Portal. It's really quite a creative game and hope that with The Orange Box, a lot of people experience it. I wonder what the quickest times in these levels will be a couple months from now.

yeah best buy almost always has stock and is great about honoring competitor ads. Wherever you get an ad for, just go to best buy first

You know what's a lie? Circuit City's credibility:

Today in the newspaper adverts they said that they were selling the PC version of OBox for 40 bucks! I haven't had the money to pick it up yet, but the prospect of saving ten bucks made me dip into my food-bank money (100 per week- I'm a fuckin poor student).

I go to one and look around the unorganized PC game section. I go ask one of the twenty people working there for an inventory lookup. After pointing out that it was boldly advertised, the clerk still asked for the SKU. After asking others and taking ten minutes, no dice. I ask them to check the other closest store there.

Spending another ten minutes waiting and forced to hear the quips and babble of employees waiting for the day to end (this was right after their manager had left, joking about firing one of the youngins), the clerk tells me that the other one didn't have the PC version either.

WTF? I told them that I was going to go buy the copy from Bestbuy across the street and come back in here demanding ten bucks in credit. (at that point I wasn't gonna come back ever again regardless). The crowd of bored employees quickly retaliated by saying:
1) Our manager just left, so we can't help you about that. My RE: Then, will you guys at least reserve a copy for me later? Them: We get deliveries by mail, so we can't promise that the price will stay the same when you get it.
2) The competitors will honor the price. My RE: Pointing out that only Circuit City had it and that no one else had the obligation of doing such.
3) You could order it online. My thoughts while thanking the clerk for her effort: I would've probably ordered it online, but the faithlessness in the security of shipping and the torture of waiting would've made it unbearable

Fuck Circuit City.

You're correct the PC version should be 40 dollars i believe. If you want i think you can order it off steam. It's a bummer since you'd be able to get a TF2 beta if you would have pre-ordered off steam :(

I walked in last Wed. morning at opening and bought OB for $38. They actually opened the shipment box that the PC games came in, and handed me the very first copy they sold.

No complaints here.

i know first person shooters are very popular. but can anyone do something more creative? its so old already. 07 has been the year of the fps. all the big hits have been that genre. wake me up when someting good comes out.

OK brainiac - factoid for ya: This is not a fps title they are talking about. It’s a puzzle game of sorts. Way to criticize something you have no idea about.

thanks for the factoid but i didnt ask for it. i was making an assumption and general statement about fps. you might love walking around seeing a pistol in your hand the whole freekin game but i dont. most people hold quake and doom on a pedestal for pioneering fps. but to me those game's were boring. it gets old too fast. so in part thanks for the reply but i know what iam talking about because sir it is my opinion.

Aaaaarggghh, the jaggies cut my eyes!!!

Is that the PC or 360 version? The Organge Box seems to suffer from severe lack of AA. Jaggies are inexcusable these days! Maybe I will rent it..
