Call of Duty 4 playable at Gamestop this Wednesday
If you're still not sure what all the hubbub, brouhaha and sometimes broubub surrounding Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4 is about, you may just get a chance to play the game's single-player campaign before the week is out. If you're over the age of 17 and generally enjoy shooting things from a first-person perspective, Activision and Gamestop cordially invite you to waltz into a participating store on Wednesday, October 17th, give the Xbox 360 version of the World War Now epic a bash and promptly fall into their carefully constructed pre-order trap. The bait is set at 9PM.
After the break you'll find a list of stores offering the playable taster -- those not on the list are only good for selling you the game when it releases on November 5th. Additionally, you can visit Gamestop's website and enter your contact details so that they may kindly draft you into a mailing list send you a "reminder" for an event that's two days away.

Virginia Beach dammit! Most populous city in Virginia, like, 4th on the East Coast! Bring stuff here! Look at all my comments, you'll see a trend from me when this selected crap comes up.
TJ0331 @ Oct 15th 2007 8:26PM
Or you can just download the PC demo... Instead of waiting in line to play a 2 minute demo.
playwhutyalike @ Oct 15th 2007 8:44PM
But why would you miss out on standing behind the "older, fatter, smellier" guy that lives in his moms' basement?
Download please.
colin @ Oct 16th 2007 2:47AM
@pwyl
HEY !!! I resemble that remark!
i do still live with my parents and i am a bit overweight, but i don't smell. is it nice up there on your pedestal? we aren't all blessed with high metabolism ... but most women i know would rather have a guy who's a little overweight than skeletor.
p.s.
what has two thumbs and likes to bone your mom?
DangerMouse @ Oct 15th 2007 8:54PM
I love that picture. I laugh every time.

blooh (CDF - Nipple Ring) @ Oct 15th 2007 8:57PM

OTAM @ Oct 15th 2007 8:59PM
Gaystop and EB LAMES! LOL AMIRITE OR WUT?
playwhutyalike @ Oct 15th 2007 9:11PM
Yup. Agreed.
Every person working in one is better than everybody else because "he plays games".
Hey, enjoy barely making close to $10/hour being broke all the time.
Once in a while you get an employee who isn't a complete shithead. Those moments are few and far between.
Sheetman @ Oct 16th 2007 10:49AM
Hey I work at a gamestop and I'm not a total shithead =( Does that mean there's something wrong with me?
Anyway, I live in Baltimore, so no. I could drive to DC, but I'm too busy for that.
dsub @ Oct 15th 2007 9:09PM
No love for Columbus, Ohio either. We're a bigger city than DC, Minneapolis, Atlanta AND Dallas, and only behind San Fran by like 9,000 citizens.
What gives? I am tired of Columbus being forgotten whenever anything like this happens.
NIck NAmer @ Oct 15th 2007 9:38PM
Columbus Ohio is hella GAY and everyone knows this....man.
give it a rest dsub. Ohio can suck it long and hard but DC deserves "anything like this happens". HA HA.
give that diatribe of insulting/broken english only a retard is going to gaystop to play this thing. Funck gaystop and EbLames.
finnith @ Oct 15th 2007 10:05PM
We don't even HAVE Gamestop in Canada
We do have EB Lames though.
westside101 @ Oct 15th 2007 11:34PM
farking florida
Jeremy @ Oct 16th 2007 4:21AM
I'll just down load the demo when ever I feel like for the PC. Even though I'll probably buy it for the 360 (especially after reading the review in the new OXM mag). Oh and by the way Dsub I'm afraid your not near the size or wealth of Dallas-Ft. Worth. Dallas by itself has at least 1,232,940 people then throw in 653,320 for Ft. Worth. While your Columbus is only at 734,288 as of the 07 census, and yes you are smaller than San Fran with 764,167.
deaftly @ Oct 16th 2007 9:14AM
halo is the only shooter i need for a LONG time, sorry cod4, ill get ya when you reach the clearance bin in few months though, i promise
NATO_Duke @ Oct 16th 2007 11:58AM
Saw we were having that in Chicago, but then I realized that I get enough of 12 year old gamers driving me nuts over Live - I surely don't need to have them around me in person.
Mikey @ Oct 19th 2007 5:59PM
I got to go the Washington DC Gamestop....well its about 30 minutes from DC. I got there around 8:45pm expecting to be a huge line of about 100 people, and there was only about 9 people inside. I was amazed! I was able to play the single player demo, which is totally different and cooler than the BETA I played. There was 3 Xbox's set up with HD tvs. Also, there was a promoter for Activision that flew from Santa Monica, California to explain everything about the game. He told me that in the middle of the full game, there is a part where there's radiation and nuclear warfare. (You heard it from me first! :] ) And when it was all over, I got free swag!! Water bottles that say "Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare" on them, a hat with that says the same thing, posters and last but not least a signed game cover from all of the developers of Call of Duty 4!!!! WOW!! It was actually signed by all of the developers in gold marker. I mean, they did actually sign all but they were copies, if you get what Iam saying. There was only 1000 signed game covers for this event, 100 at every store, 10 stores in the nation. So yeah.... they wouldn't actually hand sign them all. But over all it was amazing!
