I'm calling it: Super Mario Galaxy will be "THE" game of the 2007 Holiday season.

Its either this or Halo.
But since Smash isn't coming out this holiday, it gives SMG more legs so you might be right.

oh man i just got an awesome addition to the idea of a portal gun in hl3. what if you could shoot a port on a wall by you, then shoot the other port way ahead on the ceiling, then just peek your head/arm through, shoot any enemies you see, then move on. that'd be sweet

I personally feel almost all of the fun in Portal would be lost the moment it becomes a typical shooter. Portal is alreayd a thinking mans gun. Leave the projectile weaponry to Half-Life.

How about... dual-wielding a grav gun and a portal device? No traditional weapons. Just teleporting and throwing cars at each other in a gigantic junkyard. I think it could work. But I agree that it's definitely not necessary, as Portal is successful as the thinking man's FPS game, like BioShock was supposed to be with its "moral decisions."

There's Stars highlighting a few letters on SUPER MARIO GALAXY. Specifically the U, R, M, R, G, A, Y.

Sure White can play, under the Game Hero provision. You are automatically able to play a game if the primary playable character is of your race, or substantially derived from your race or culture.

This ad for Galaxy probably has no White people because Nintendo was worried that viewers thought Wii was only for Japanese and Whites, and especially for congregations of Whites and Japanese. Now, it is clear that neither Whites or Japanese are required to play (and enjoy!) Nintendo Wii.

Jes' keepin' it real, yo.

God what a great trailer.

Really brings me back to the day where games were all about fun instead of stupid ass fanboys bitching about whos console had the best graphics.

Graphics are pointless. Art design is all that matters. This is the most beautiful game I've ever seen.

I almost hate to say this but this game looks like it's from last century, circa gamecube. ames on the PSP trump this. Now I'm not saying it doesn't look like fun, it simply doesn't look innovative, new or fresh and the graphics look unrefined.

"Now I'm not saying it doesn't look like fun, it simply doesn't look innovative, new or fresh and the graphics look unrefined."

I would like to call your attention back to the year 1987. It was in this year that Nintendo started work on a sequal to their smash hit game "The Legend of Zelda". Now i wasnt there while the developers were making this game, but I believe it might have gone something like this:

Miyamoto: "hey guys, I just got approval to start on the next installment of the Legend of Zelda game. People seemed to really like the first one so lets just refine what we already have into...

Dev1:(Here on referred to as Mike) Yea, about that. Dave(dev2) and I were thinking that we should do something new and innovative with this installment.

Miyamoto: Like what?

Dave: Well, as you know, Final Fantasy is a really popular game and I think we should take an approach simiar to that but with more action.

Mike: Yes... more action and lets make it a side scrolling and Link can gain expierence points as he...

Miyamoto: but people really liked the way it... {Mike gets louder and continues to talk enthusiatically with Dave}
Miyamoto: Ok, i'll this up to you guys then {exits room shaking head}
as Miyamoto exits the room he hears Dave say "and lets shorten the title to Zelda 2!"
{Miyamoto puts his hand on his forehead and sighs }

A year later the game was met largely with disapproval is to this day consider the worst zelda ever! And that my friends is why Nintendo doesnt change the format of its most popular games.

Looking more and more like a true successor to Mario 64. Nothing against Sunshine, but it surely has been a long time coming. The Bowser levels shown look especially promising. Lots of fire-pinwheels and such.

Even the music played there, if I am correct, is a slightly remixed version of some Mario 64 music.

At this point, I would like to be given a sense of the size and length of the game. One of my biggest gripes about Sunshine was that it felt too small and the worlds weren't varied enough because they all happened on the same town. Heck, the kind of "overworld" that the Deflino plaza acted as seemed significantly smaller than the Mario 64 castle, a lot of the worlds were kind of small, and there were about half as many worlds in sunshine as in 64. After mario 64, sunshine seemed dreadfully short, so I am really hoping that Galaxy is huge.

U R MR GAY And Metroid Prime 3 by themselves make the Wii bundle I had to buy a worthwhile purchase. This game looks effin sweet.

On a side note, remember how in the old days we had way more "pure" platformers than we do now? What happened with that? The last non-Mario platformer I really enjoyed was PoP: SoT, and before that - Rayman 2, Christ, that was probably 7 years ago...

I wonder why no clip nor advertisement shows how Mario dies.

Because that what he does in game all the time.

Kind of unbalance advertisement, I'd say.
