That said, GameDaily BIZ reports that EA is going to release Madden NFL '08 en Espanol this holiday season, "a new version of the popular Madden 08 game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 that's fully translated into Spanish." But it's not just a simple translation: They're replacing cover athlete Vince Young with Luis Castillo, defensive end for the San Diego Chargers and a native of the Dominican Republic; adding three exclusive music tracks from Spanish-language acts; and "Alvaro Martin, the first Spanish language announcer for ABC Sports' Monday Night Football, will voice the play-by-play broadcasts."
This isn't just EA looking to attract new players and boost its already healthy profit stream. The NFL has been reaching out to Spanish-speaking fans as well, dovetailing neatly with EA's latest Madden venture. If it proves successful, we imagine this won't be the last Spanish language sports release we see from the kids at EA.

Aqui otro tico. And, to be sincere, nobody gives a damn sh!t for American football outside USA. But, if EA wants to give Latin people something to play, just release FIFA 2008 in English and Spanish at the same time, like in PAL territories.

On-topic: Im glad EA stepped it up for us. My uncle loves American football and wants to madden ( mind u i hate EA rehashing madden every year, but my friends always want to play it ...and fifa)but doesnt understand english...so this'll ort of be his christmas gift this year.
I think you meant hispaniphobic, and I'm tired of "phobic" getting attached to anything that pisses people off these days. How about I move to another country and insist they translate anything I might be using into english because I refuse to assimilate?
I would love nothing more than immigrants to come here as they did in the past, legally, permanently, and with the intent to become americans, not mexicans (or whatever other country) living abroad.
This country's strength is in it's ability to take anyone from any background and make them its own, what pisses people off is the feeling that you should come here, but not do anything but leech off the system, without trying to become a citizen. Mexico has tougher immigration laws than the US, but there isn't anyone complaining about them.

Another mexican over here. I don't see why EA are releasing a Madden version in spanish when the english version has already sold like hot cakes. It is weird that they didn't do this move when the FIFA games have had comments and music in spanish for at least 4 years. Must be because the sport isn't very popular outside the US
No ya! Tanta gente que habla español, que felicidad y que cambio jaja. Saludos desde chilangolandia (Mexico City, para los no-mexicas). Pues al leer este thread me crecen dos grandes sentimientos. Uno, me fascina ver como los "latinos" (si tambien me caga esa palabra) estan orgullosos de sus origenes, y eso incluye como defienden nuestras respectivas patrias. Ahora dos, me siento tambien muy enojado al ver como pobres pendejos peleles estereotipen y odien tanto a los "latinos", esas pendejadas de "beaners" e "illegal inmigrants" y toda esa sarta de mamadas pues, tengo que admitir, me molestan de sobre manera. Especialmente como los gringos (perdon, estadounidenses.. ^^) creen que son el reputisimo centro del universo! Que no nos adaptamos a su sistema? a su modo de vida? Neta? ... Pues yo creo que mas bien son ellos los que imponen su estilo de vida sobre los demas, o que la coca cola/nike/abercrombie/name almost any brand/ que puedo comprar en donde putas sea q no son gringas? Me equivoco? ... Que gringolandia (perdon! Estados Unidos..) no empezo siendo solo un puñado de estados? 13 no? y que no la MITAD de su pais no era PROPIEDAD DE MEXICO hace unos 150 añitos? ... Oh one more thing, I just thing it is interesting to point out the fact that it is the "latino" porcentage of the people in Joystiq (or at least the ones that are posting here..again, my apologies to those who do not deserve my criticism) that sepak two, three, even four languages... yeah, it is us who deserve the sterotypes...
