BioWare is a great place to work -- for now
BioWare Corp. (Mass Effect) was named as one of "Financial Post's 10 Best Companies to work for" in Canada. Companies were selected based on success and forward-thinking programs. BioWare was gracious regarding the honor, co-founder and CEO Ray Muzyka said, "At BioWare, we have always valued our people, and one of our core values is to provide an environment that offer quality in the workplace and promotes creativity."Hopefully BioWare can retain its "core values" following their recent acquisition by Electronic Arts. Although, in fairness, EA has turned around their image regarding workers. Currently everything seems just rosy between BioWare and EA. Guess we just have to wait and see if BioWare ends up on the "best companies" list again next year -- if they remain in Canada that is.

I actually have a few buddies who intern over at BioWare. I haven't spoken to them in months, but one of them the other day wouldn't shut up about how fucking awesome it is.
Yay for Edmonton.

It hit me hard when I read the news of EA's acquisition of BioWare. I can literally count the amount of gaming companies worth a damn on one hand so this move could potentially be severely damaging to gamers everywhere.
I have difficulties recalling companies with perfect track records and BioWare has yet to fail with even a single game. Realism or pessimism, it's very unlikely with EA lording over them that BioWare will continue with their current stride.

Ok stop stop stop. I think everyone is overreacting a bit. EA has gotten better, and this could bring better sales for both Bioware and Pandemic. I honestly don't think that bioware is going to suddenly make crap games since they are now a part of EA. Everyone needs to chill out and just wait.
