From an artistic standpoint that trailer deserves some kind of award.
I have a feeling it will be 3D but with heavy emphasis on the 2D art style.

@Xion... no, Capcom likes money.
Gameplay will be 2d for sure; otherwise they'd have announced it as a new SF EX title, or perhaps come up with a new modifier... but since the title is "Street Fighter IV" the chances of it being anything but 2d gameplay are slim/none.

What about that same art style, 2D plane but with 3D graphics a la Smash Bros.
Which would fucking rock btw

If the game ends up having the same visuals as that trailer, that would be amazing.

Looks like Ryu won that battle... Damn, I sure hope that's some in-game rendering. Very cool trailer there.

@ AoE"
I don't doubt it will be on 360, but i think its only correct to point out that no platforms have been announced.

They could render 2D images from 3D artwork. I think that's what they did with Donkey Kong Country back in the day. Personally I want it to look hand drawn manga style. Either way this thing will be amazing.

1up is also stating that SFII HD is delayed till next year to fix lag issues.
However, they also mention it's going to have true widescreen support... Which I thought was already stated to be false since this is mostly going to be sprite replacement.
Did something change?

If that video looked like the game in anyway, I would buy that SF4 game for 100$
Whatever it looks like we need to feel like we have complete control over the characters, and dont make any characters that are inherently useless most of the time... i.e. a pro ryu would never loose to any level of dhalsim player on the original street fighter 2...

O O!!! O-M-G Did I see that right, was that SF4? Well after watching it like 20 time's, all i can say is WOW! Ok after watching it agin like 5 times more, (you know you did the same thing). I have come to this point of view. 1. The artwork is amazing! Leading to IMO that this will be some kind of 2D but with a twist, im thinking like that dog game Capcom put out (forget the name plz forgive its Oniki or something) 2. From the fighting I think IMO that there will be dashing, counter moves, and breaking grab's, breaking fall's, and different moves for Ryu & Ken. lol Yeah i reviewed this bad boy alot. Anyhow if it's a 2D, 3D (IMO-dont think so) or a card game (Oh god plz dont make it a card game -.-;) this video alone should get a award. Capcom bring it!

Warning this is my break down of the vid. 1. This looks like it's drawn or some kind of a hand brush type like work. 2. At 00:17 is a nice shot I call "This is going to hurt!" 3. At 00:23 When Ken does the fake uppercut, there is some japanse writing. Anyone know what they mean or say. I say fake cause Ken throws mud/dirt in Ryu face. 4. At 00:42 This looks to be some kind of a dash. 5. At 00:44 is where Ken break's free from Ryu's grab, this will be in the game. 6. At 00:46 is the little hop punch that Ryu has done in SF3, but Ken counter's it! 7. At 00:50 Ryu rolls!?! Can't tell to good. 8. At 00:54 And this happen's very fast, when Ken does his last kick to Ryu when he start's to turn to spin, too the right of the vid is more japanse writing and at the end of this kick is a clue to what kind of art this is with that splash of black that Ken's kick does. 9. At 00:58 as Ryu is about to stand up, close your eyes and just listen to that nice sound or rushing air. Prepare Yourself.

I so agree....trailer looks great, 3D with 2D artwork sounds great. I wonder if PS3 would make it an online game. I know 360 will. And we pretty much know that it's going to be multi-platform seeing Capcom's stance on exclusives as of late.

Hmmmmm...... to those who believe that it wont be 3D just becuase it lacks the letters "EX" in the title: Firstly, the EX series was made by Arika who had been subcontracted to By Capcom. This was during the days Capcom had not fully perfected 3D style art. THings have changed now with the advent of DMC and Resident Evil 4. Also, this game is being made by Capcom USA and they have not said anything about Arikas involvement.
Bearing this in mind, it still may be 3D and the lack of the use of "EX" simply points to the fact that Arika are not involved and does not say that it is not 3D.
