I'm going to go ahead and vouch for Ninja Jajamaru-kun. I got a Famicom when I was a kid (I lived in Taiwan then) and Ninja Jajamaru-kun is one of the few games I still play. :) It's frenetic and just plain wonderful.

I was going to grab Lunar Pool, but my loving wife decided to use the last of my points on "Wario's Woods" and "Donkey Kong Math" of all damn things.

Actually I like Lunar Pool, the first rounds are vary basic but later on gets good with all the table types. But its true this game requires patients.
