It's not even a comparison to me anymore. I understand there's a higher cost of entry for Rockband, but the possibilities of it are pretty amazing. I'm EXTREMELY excited about the full album DLC too. It's a very big deal to me and I hope it's priced reasonably. I'll be getting the Who album they announced right away. That was kind of the final blow for me.

There's a lot of stuff I'd like to see on there, but one that comes to mind would be Weezer's Pinkerton. That would be fun singing or on guitar or on drums.

I also have to admit that I'm not fond of this new guitar battle mechanic in GH3. The addition of power ups and stuff kind of just doesn't interest me at all.

Guitar Hero 3 for me. I was going to get Rock Band, even had it pre-ordered but when Tour Mode turned out to be offline only it basically made me not want the game, oh well there's always hope for Rock Band 2. Till then GHIII will tide me over.

Since I never bought GH2 for the 360, which took A TON of patience.. Buying GH3 will provide my bass (or guitar) for Rock Band. Both FTW

Definitely Guitar Hero. I'm not interesting in the drums or Karaoke, so the $170 entry price makes little sense. That, and the track list for GHIII beats the hell out of Rock Band's.

Rock Band's Fender looks a lot nicer than the Les Paul, but that's not enough to win me over.

I voted both, but I'm actually looking forward to Rock Band more.

GH3 will slake my thirst for more songs to shred with the guitar, but Rock Band is much more appealing in terms of everything that you can do. I think the multiplayer is going to be more fun than the battle mode in GH3 also.

Add to that I'm more confident that Rock Band will churn out weekly DLC.

I'll be getting both of these. on their launch days.

I've been waiting since Guitar hero 1 for a Drum game. and the fact that it comes with another kick ass guitar that i can use for guitar hero franchise, will be awesome. yes. its alot of money (273 dollars for GH3 + RB) but its worth it.

I think people would be crazy to take GH3 over Rock Band. You get more for your money and obviously a lot more songs considering the downloadable content. I have Rock Band pre-ordered. What got me to get the game is Rock Band is the ULTIMATE co-op experience. Two guitars, drums, and a mic. The Tour mode sounds awesome and it really didn't matter to me whether it was online or not. I also thought Rock Band's soundtrack was much better than GH3. GH3 game modes don't really pull me into buying the game and i'm really not interested in the boss battles against the computer...kinda lame if you ask me. Finally....GH3 has been the SAME game since the original guitar hero in my opinion. Rock Band all the way.

I also think people need to read about the tour mode in Rock Band. It's well beyond what is present in the GH series.

"... but the tour mode described here is so beyond what even GHIII is attempting that it doesn't even matter. What's the comparison? Guitar Battles? If I wanted power-ups I'd go play Mario Kart."

Both, but I'm forced to wait a) for the European release of Rock Band, and b) for the seperate instruments to become available, for said game.

The programming for these is so easy that GHIII doesn't rate the cost of the game title alone, but neither does Rock Band. I favor Rock Band as the inclusion of the drums provides for much more game play. Combine the drums with two guitars and the mic and now you've got a party favorite.

You must be crazy to want rock band over Gh3. less songs on release, much larger price tag and much shittier setlist. I will be playing the metal version of devil went down to georgia while your playing OK Go's "Here we go again" LOL. Also I hope you know someone with a decent voice on xbox live or all you will hear is prepubescent voices crackling over the mic. Seriously...Nine Inch Nails "Bite the hands that feeds"...RadioHead "Creep"...the worst songs by the performers. Radiohead came out to the public and apologized for how shitty that cd was.

I already pre-ordered both of them but am looking forward to Rock Band more. I can't wait until this Sunday when GH3 comes out, but GH3 is just to hold me over until Black Friday when I'll get Rock Band.

GH3 will be cool with the great track list plus the new features but essentially it's the same thing as GH and GH2. Rock Band, on the other hand, is a completely new game (in the sense that it combines all of the instruments). I know there are karaoke and drum games out there already, but none are as awesome as RB will be.

There's no doubt about it: the second half of 2007 is a great time for 360 owners with amazing games like GH3, Rock Band, Halo 3 and COD4 being released. Hopefully 2008 will be even better!

Agreenbhm, I am with you 100%.

GH3 has a couple stellar songs (the metal devil went down to georgia, rock you like a hurricane, one, rock n roll all nite), but almost 40% of the songs I've never heard of.

Rock Band has the better set list IMO. Songs like Dani California, Enter Sandman, In Bloom, Paranoia, and my personal favorite Detroit Rock City, are going to be more fun to play. If the guitar parts arent as challenging, thats fine. I would rather play some rock then half of those goth and punk songs I've never heard of before.

Sunday can't come soon enough, I need new material to play, and I need it now!

Rock Band for me, since it features more music. Cymbals and teenage angst don't make a good combo, which is why I stay from punk and ska music like the plague.

With that said, I simply want to rock out on the drums. That, and the Rock Band guitar looks a lot better. I'll try it a few times, I'm sure.

After playing both games extensively I must say that I enjoy the Rock Band experience more. Rock Band feels more like a music creation sim, whereas Guitar Hero 3 just feels like a game that challenges you to smash as many buttons as possible without losing. I don't know how the folks at Neversoft managed to strip the musical experience out GH3, but they did.

I picked both. I didnt pre-order GHIII or Rock Band but will pick GHIII up Sunday. I'll be getting Rock Band for Christmas hopefully. im more of a GH fan but i like the Rock Band because its different and it has more than one choice to play the game and i can get 3 friends to play with me at once instead of 1. the only thing i dont like is that i HAVE to buy the Guitars for Rock Band sooo, im gonna think and see what i can do because i much rather keep my wireless guitar controllers but i have to say i like the Rock Band guitar better. it just looks more realistic and i like the 5 extra buttons.

Wireless Controller.

Online Co-Op.

Is there really any question? Rock Band has a cool idea, but I think there's only room for one Guitar rhythm game in my house.

I like that the guitar is larger, I hear that is a big compliant from every one with GH1 & 2. plus rock band you can play the drums how cool is that. well both are great, get both and am sure you got an awesome package. I think rock band guitar is better, and second playing online will be a blast with drums and all.

Wrong time for this poll. Post it two months after release and GH3 will appear stale while Rock Band cleans house.

GH3 has overwhelming brand name recognition right now which is an overwhelming advantage. Plus anyone who's visited GH fansites knows that it's getting mixed reviews at best.

It's a really hard call. Most of my friends live in a different city now so buying all the Rock Ban instruments for myself seems pointless, but then again I really, REALLY want to play the drums. I'm wating for the reviews in case theirs some terrible flaw that comes out (though highly unlikely, I'm not willing to bet 170 on the off chance it happens) and to be able to compare the complete song lists too. It will also be interesting to see what the cost of downloadable songs is for both of the games as well. Then theirs the matter of how well the Guitar Hro 3 Guitar works with Rock Band (supposedly it's higher quality than rock bands) Maybe I'll just wait until I can get a set of drums alone before getting the whole package.
