Anyone try out the demo on Live? I'm curious to see how this plays (vs. GH2).

I welcome a compilation like this. I took a chance after the first guitar hero and on a whim bought Franz Ferdinand's album with Take Me Out on it as well as the Donnas' album with Take It Off on it, neither band really striking me as interesting before the playing the game. FF was gold, the Donnas epitomize the modern gripe of one-good-song-and-twelve-trash-tracks. The Donnas was possibly the worst record buying decision I've ever made.

Long story short, yeah, I could have just poked around for each song I liked in Guitar Hero on iTunes and bought the singles, but I'd rather have it in one place. No muss, no fuss.

So what about songs like Trogdor, which are not associated with a record label? What about songs like Jordan (by Buckethead) which are concert-only tracks?

That's probably why they say "nearly every song".

More cross-promotional money grubbing nonsense. No thanks. Buy some 7 gum!

A lot of music publishers are still holdouts and don't allow for their music to be distributed via digital means. Furthermore, they might not allow for distribution through iTunes, but through Rhapsody or Yahoo music.

I, for one, wish that Activision would get on the ball and do something similar for other music services (Rhapsody, please!), because not everyone has been duped into suckling on Steve Job's turtleneck-clad teat.

...or I can just make my own playlist of my own...

Dude, wtf, it's still the original recordings tho! most of which suck! They should release the re-recordings of the song that red octane did for the actual game
