Korn rocks out original track for Haze

Ubisoft's Haze is still a month away, for the PS3 at least, but that has not stopped the band Korn from being "inspired" by Free Radical's sci-fi FPS, prompting the nu metal rock group to record an original track for the game. The single, creatively titled "Haze," will debut over radio, television, and download sites in November alongside the game's release, meaning even your non-gaming friends could be banging their heads to Haze marketing material in the near future. Take pictures.

Korn's vocalist Jonathan Davis is said to be a major driver behind the collaboration, which makes sense given his apparent passion for games. He once worked on a PS2 fighting game called Pop Scars that aimed to pit celebrities like Mary J. Blige and Marilyn Manson against each other, but this project was eventually canned by Davis in 2004. This setback did not dampen the rocker's spirits, however. Said Davis, "Gaming for me is a religion and Haze is the shit!...I had to come up with a track that can hit up that kind of rush I get from the game and I think we really rocked it!!" We share your enthusiasm for games, but I think we speak for everyone when we say 'stop shouting!' Please.

I don't know...I really loved Korn back in their hay day. They are kinda losing it though. Their last album sucked big hairy Wookie balls.

Korn was great back in the day,the latest tracks aren't that bad but aren't frequent either,good to see them back but I hope they include Freak on a leash.

BTW the Song is called Gone guru and it was in Dead Rising and Burnout,I like that song and if anyone didn't like it well F*U.

But yeah the difference between Emo, Metal and Rock these days is pretty vague especially because there haven't been a good band in years all I hear in the radio is trash.

There are good rock bands out there, you just cant expect the radio to find them for you anymore. If anyone is looking for good recent rock or metal, check out Ghost Machine, Five Finger Death Punch, Karnivool and Chokt. They will strengthen your hearing. Plus we still have good bands like NIN and Tool that have survived for awhile and still seem to put out quality shit.

Korn started sucking after Follow the Leader. They really need to stop.

Yeah, I liked trash like Korn & Slipknot when I was in high school. Fortunately, my musical taste matured. Now if I listen to crap like that it just sounds silly. Radiohead is an awesome band with musical talent that goes far beyond screaming, whining, and overuse of distortion/drop D tuning. Maybe when you're older you'll understand.

Slipknot is a Korn knockoff, which makes them even lamer than Korn. In fact, they probably wear masks because it's really the guys from Korn, and they realized that their popularity was waning, so they decided to put on masks and make another shitty band that would appeal to the same lame-ass angry high school kids that listen to them.

Well...I liked their work in Doom III...But that made more sense in a "get fired up bitch because you're gonna take on hell!" sort of way. I'm not really sure how Korn would be relevant to Haze.

The first time I heard about Korn was when they did the soundtrack to some Mortal Kombat mail-order anime.

I can't believe what I am hearing! KoRn can still rock it hard! I am glad they've decided to do a track in a game! I can't wait to hear it. and yes their latest offering hasn't been as heavy as their self titled album but it still is awesome! I find this funny because I happen to be wearing my KoRn shirt. The band has gone through a lot of shit in the last couple of years and they've evolved and really pulled through and still made decent music. Can't say the same for groups like Metallica. Radiohead ain't bad but Tool is garbage. In terms of heavy bands nowadays you guys should check out bands like Lamb of God or In Flames. Those bands will knock you on your ass!

There is nothing wrong with liking Korn when you're 14. There is something wrong with being 30-something and pretending to be an angry teenager, like Korn still does. They remind me of the guy with a broken leg in "A Separate Piece". Like him, they need to either grow up or die (like Cobain!)

Korn is just silly. There's something really goofy about a bunch of middle aged folks screaming on stage and pandering to 14 year olds.

At this point it's all about the mortgage. After all, they're apart of the Pop-like genre of rock. Might as well just put on white jump suits and dance around. Maybe then I'd be able to respect the conviction of being a complete tool.

I don't know how many of you on here have listened to KoRn recently but they aren't pretending to be angry at their parents. They are playin a style of music that many people both young and old enjoy. You don't have to be 14 to listen to and enjoy KoRn. I am in my 20's and I still enjoy heavy metal music. Crabsticles is right at this point they are doing it for the mortgage but they are still making decent music.
