We've also included some swinging action after the jump (spoiler alert: It's Spider-Man), but the interesting part is the video above. Who would have thought that Nathan Spencer would come up with radder things to do with his arm than Radd Spencer? Oh irony, do you know no limits?

Wow. It actually looks pretty fun. Too bad the guys in Crackdown don't have one of those fancy arms.

He must also have one of those new fangled bionic legs, unless newtons laws don't apply in the future...

I just hope it doesn't turn out like those other games with the now-standard physics engines where they're so proud its there the game is peppered with conviniently placed items to create constant Rube Goldberg devices to make it through the game.

Meh, despite all hope, you can tell this is gonna be a failure.. dreads and a cartoon robo-arm that probably weighs as much as him? And his aiming would be much better if he could use both his arms like the original.
Come one.. all we needed was a 1080p, 60fps, 2.5d re-imagining of the original ala New SMB. Much like Sonic and Castlevania, this is one series that should stay in 2d.

Pardon my ignorance, but has it been stated what consoles this game will be developed for?

Sure, the videos look cool so far... but they always tweak videos to make sure they look good. Who knows if it'll play as cool as it looks.
Though because of how they're making the character look now, I'm constantly tempted to call the bionic arm a Power Glove. Because, you know, it's so bad.

Your title should be "New Bionic Commando's Art Director needs a kick in his ass"

The swinging doesn't really look that well implemented: Somehow his swings, despite looking like he overshot and would end up crashing into the ground below, always barely manage to avoid hitting anything. My Suspension of disbelief is being thoroughly broken.

Did anyone else notice that the music in The Swing video is the same tune from the NES game?

He runs like Gabe Logan circa PS1 era. That weird "I run like a girl" hip-shifting thing going on.

Looks interesting, but I worry whether this will be yet another case of a game that just doesn't work quite as well in a 3D world.
