I just downloaded the original Crash to my PSP from the PSN...good times. Guess that and your review just saved me $35 on Titans.

I don't know what you're talking about with it not working on 3.71 m33-2; that's what I'm running, and it works just fine. As far as game quality goes, though...quite meh. It's decent as far as a Crash game goes, and is certainly a step up for the series, but it seems to be just another case of too little, too late.

I'm also running it on 3.71 M33-2, and the only problem i got is this one "Ironically, Crash stays true to its namesake and seems to simply crash once in a while. If a level takes too long to load, the game will freeze and the system will automatically turn off." No frame rate issue, and yes, the game is kinda meh... It's not excellent, not even great but it's not bad.

UI delays and convoluted menu layout can really cause a game to become unappealing. I've found many other PSP titles suffer from this - and it's a shame, because when you finally get into the actual play mechanic, these can often be otherwise really fun games.

As for the lack of originality and innovation to push the game past the aforementioned PSN title, again, something that too many PSP developers are doing wrong (and then blaming Sony or the system for the lack of software sales).

I ran the game as a backed up cso and the loading problems were gone as well as it ran quite well under the custom firmware, maybe the game should have been downloadable. This poses another problem, how many people know how to backup their game... I use filer and it always worked but the other problem who has memory stick big enough to make the backup.
Personnally i liked the game, sometimes the visuals are nice, as for the dialogue, i find it no different to crash 2 and 3. The gameplay feels like it went back to its roots where you just go up, which makes the levels more well developed (im taking about the game where crash and cortex are joined to together).
Maybe it is just me but I find it one of the more enjoyable platformers that is compared to the crash and spyro games that was released last couple of years.

I'm guessing that's why it didn't run for you, you didn't have the CPU clock set high enough. In games that run at higher speeds, if you have it set lower, it doesn't run.

I think the game is fun, better than the old PSX flavors I have played on the PSP. At least this is not the 100th itteration of the same a game ala Mario...
My son and daughter like it much more than I so maybe that target audience it will reall do well for...

I'm tired of platformers, especially for the PSP.

I was loving Daxter until the part where there's a time limit and you have to zoom around in the hovercraft. Just plain frustrating. The PSP controls suck for that kind of game.
