That's pretty cool... although for my purposes the Hori one works out well.

I have a SlikStik classic arcade panel for MAME gaming (similar concept, just more controls), and it's awesome. (It's also $500, so again, not for the faint of wallet.)

However, it's better suited for that purpose because the images I have emulate games with those controls. This looks great for XBLA ports ... so I guess in some ways it's the same thing as a fancy steering wheel: great if you don't mind the fact you won't be using it on a lot of your games.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to break out my MasterCard.

I WILL get this. This'll be PERFECT for pac-Man C.E. which I can't stand using the X360 controller especially when I want to make those quick turns but still going forward, I hate that about Pac-Man C.E. I've been waiting for something like this for a very long time.

why get the dual controller for $300 when 2 singles are $150? Unless you are planning on mounting it into your own custom arcade stand.

anyone have one of these already? i assume good quality?

Technically, for alot of my arcade games which I do have alot, but for Pac-Man CE, I want my score to be aleast part of the top ten which I can't do because of how frustrating it is using the X360 controller.

So look at the difference as paying for time and quality. $35 for materials, $35 for a controller ... I'll pay someone $95 ($15 shipping) to do the work for me and make it look good. If I did it, it would look like crap.

If you've got the time and skill, then yeah, this isn't the best deal for you, but that applies to any arcade-quality controller. You can always make your own for less, and most places will even sell you the kits if you want an in-between solution.

This would be the total shit if you weren't bound by 8-way joysticks, there's no option for Perfect 360's or even Happ concave buttons. If I had the time I'd make a control, but paying ~200 for a P360 arcade controller would be worth it for the instant gratification.

Um, the HORI Arcade EX2 is cheaper:

If it looks familiar, it's the DOA4 stick without the DOA4 gfx.

Looks like they are using Happ sticks in that thing. Happ sticks are okay for most arcade games, but they aren't the preferred stick for fighting games.

At any rate, I'll bet that thing's made with MDF and t-molding, knockoff Happ ultimate pushbuttons, and a Happ stick or a Chinese knockoff.

The cost of materials is about $40. I'd pay $75 for the convenience, but not any more than that. If you want your $150 to go farther, head over to the forums at shoryuken.com and look for builders. You can get a beautiful custom stick with real wood, real Japanese parts, and a button layout that actually fits your hand.

I think I'd rather get a second xbox with that $300.
I just want a regular controller that doesn't have gigantic dead zones.
anyone find a good third party controller?
