- IGN (90/100): "The end product is one of those welcomed surprises – an unpredictably top-quality undertaking whose winning marriage of sometimes-genius environmental puzzles and beautiful graphics will suck you in. It also perfectly encapsulates what I always hope for but seldom see from third parties: an original Wii project that really makes the most of the console."
- Gamespot (85/100): "Zack & Wiki is one of those sink-or-swim kind of games, the sort of thing that is conceptually so offbeat that if the execution isn't spot-on, the whole thing could drown. Good thing this one's got water wings. Essentially a puzzle game pretending to be a more traditional adventure, Zack & Wiki is the sort of weirdly engaging game that, dare we say it, probably could only really be done on the Wii hardware."
- Game Informer (82.5/100): "In the Wii's expansive gutter of shoddy third-party ports and minigame garbage, Capcom is showing that it's possible to make something original and fun. I just hope that the presentation doesn't kill Zack & Wiki's chances."
Metareview: Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure (Wii)
Once you get past its generic and overly long title, So-and-So & Friend: Quest for the Something Or Other, you'll come to discover that Capcom's latest Wii endeavor sees them gracefully leaping across the pitfalls, mires and traps so many third-party developers have encountered on the road to Wii mega success. If the $40 point-and-click-ish adventures of a pint-sized pirate kid and his flying golden monkey (!!) fail to melt the block of ice in your chest, perhaps these glowing reviews will:

Unless your PC can run Crysis, get COD4.
I think I'll ask for this game for Christmas, though.

I haven't seen an adventure game this punishing since 1990. It's so old-school and inventive, one of those games that makes me feel like it was made just to satisfy my obscure tastes.
Now I'm excited.

HYPE, HYPE, AND MORE HYPE...
And then they leave you haning with this random score...
My god, what the hell is wrong with you?
There have been lots of coverage on reviews on the 'stiq lately.
Ultimately, it boils down to what interests you...reviewers be damned.
If I relied on reviews, I would have never bought LAIR. I find it frustrating at times, but my 7 year old girl doesn't. She doesn't know any better so she adapts. I think she is better than me at the game.
Bottom line is, if you find it fun, why do you care what others think?

haha! zack and wiki got a better score than Rachet and clank from Gamespot's review!
If this makes me sound like a fanboy, then there's nothing I can say except 'guilty as charged'.

I just have to play it. Wednesdays are day when I nerd out, though, so I'll probably not even get to play it until tomorrow.
Almost no stores had the game in stock today. A lot of them don't even have shipments planned for it. Others have the game coming in next week or later.
It took me a while to find one Gamestop that actually had the game, and they only received 5 copies.
This may go the way of Katamari, where there was a big unexpected demand but no supply for about a month. OR, the delay in stock will cause it to be overwhelmed by titles like BWii/GH3/SMG in the next few weeks.
Damn you Retailers.

IN any case, capcom will know how many sell, and thats whats most important.
Yes, we did bring that home as well. It is gooood. Buy it. The wii-mote uses are spot on; my only caveat is to really fiddle with your TV's lighting. Some spots are quite dark and you need to really squint to find what you need to do.

Has anyone heard from Phattie or Shags? I just need somebody to tell me what a retard I am for owning a Wii.
Or maybe I'm craving another minigame joke?
Aw forget it.

Um, the Wii is so bad, it's only got minigames, and um, you are a retard...I mean WIItard, yeah, that's it. Because you play a Wii.
Also I question your sexuality.
