Uncharted completed, demo expected mid-November
Bravely venturing into the comments section on the official PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog's Christian Gyrling has stated that development on shooter slash spelunker Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has come to an end. "We went 'gold' last week," says the game's AI and animation programmer. "Right now the game is in other words 100% done and is currently going through the approval process." But sir, we're sure there's no need for that -- we already approve.
Gyrling also comments on the previously mentioned PSN demo and expects it to be available for download in mid-November. That should give you a fair taste of all the jeep-driving, pirate-shooting, treasure-grabbing and occasionally-falling-to-your-deathing action promised for the game's November 20th release.

it's done, but we'll wait a month before sending it in for manufacture.
...?
gonk @ Oct 24th 2007 7:27PM
they have to do final approval for a few days, then then send it to be mass-produced and shipped out to retailers in time for the street date. that's how this shit works

Welcome to the gaming industry.
There's Dew and Doritos in the break room. You can deposit your penis at the front desk, you won't be needing it.
In the event that you have a gamer girlfriend, your crown and cape will be delivered to your room.
harrison_schaerr @ Oct 24th 2007 9:23PM
xant, that was probably the funniest thing i've ever heard =)
Jeff @ Oct 24th 2007 7:35PM
Us PC gamers should be able to get this, with the option of playing with a sixaxis.
I mean c'mon, ps3 has to trade us something for all the Unreal love they're getting.
ColossalHat @ Oct 24th 2007 7:57PM
But you can play games with the sixaxis on your computer, though the tilt doesn't seem to work, and I think the d-pad doesn't work either.
On second thought you're probably better off with a keyboard and mouse.
SoulBlade @ Oct 24th 2007 10:59PM
you're joking i hope? try using a 360 controller on a PC if you want a gamepad... i've heard they're very good.
Autopsy15 @ Oct 24th 2007 11:35PM
Well, I don't ever remember seeing a Naughty Dog game for the PC so I don't think that will ever happen. Naughty Dog has been pretty faithful to Sony over these 12 years. They deserve a round of applause.
Autopsy15 @ Oct 24th 2007 11:41PM
*Correction*
Actually, I was wrong. They did make a game for the PC. 2 actually, Dream Zone and Keef the Thief. But, that was back in the days of the Genisis(Rings of Power) and the 3D0(Way of the Warrior). They also made Dream Zone for the Amiga. Heh.
Evan @ Oct 24th 2007 8:16PM
I hope it lives up to expectations. Ratchet & Clank is pushing me to desire a PS3, but I refuse to spend that kind of money for only one game. But Drake's Fortune, plus the need to replace my disk-read-error prone PS2, might be enough to convince me to put a PS3 next to my Wii.
FOXHOUND @ Oct 25th 2007 8:39AM
dude raider=ftw.
Seriously speaking, it looks pretty fun.
Cellien @ Oct 25th 2007 11:01AM
If you are looking to retire your PS2, you're gonna have to buy the high-dollar PS3 to play your PS2 game.
Steve @ Oct 24th 2007 8:49PM
I still don't even know what this game is. The only thing I've ever heard of it is, "It's a huge ripoff of Tomb Raider!" And that's from Naughty Dog executives. I might be interested if I didn't hate Jak 2 and 3 so much. (Jak 1 was great, though.)
It's strange that the games getting the best press on PS3 are the ones that are most derivative; arguably this is as true for the 360 (where another Halo game and System Shock 2.1 are games of the year). It's as though Sony and Microsoft are deliberately being as uninnovative as possible to differentiate themselves from Nintendo.
Matt B @ Oct 24th 2007 9:31PM
See Eye of Judgment.
SoulBlade @ Oct 24th 2007 11:00PM
I hope LittleBigPlanet can change that.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Oct 24th 2007 11:07PM
@Matt
hahahhaa
EOJ being innovative my ass.
steve Johnson @ Oct 24th 2007 8:49PM
Gamespot must be drooling...yet another PS3 game to underate! Oh the joy!

Matt B @ Oct 24th 2007 9:32PM
LOLZ Jake.
+1
jc @ Oct 24th 2007 10:59PM
I think you mean violin. Who plays a piano?
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Oct 24th 2007 11:08PM
men who want bitches. Cause as we all know, bitches love the piano.
Razorlution @ Oct 24th 2007 9:20PM
If this plays like any of Naughty Dogs other titles, its gonna be a hit....Its great to see developers like Naughty Dog stick with a certain game and keep it fresh at the same time.
Tom "I'm so sexy" Brady @ Oct 24th 2007 9:29PM
This game is a day 1 purchase for me. The more I see, the more I want it. It looks like developers are starting to get the hang of the PS3. Just like the PS2, it is taking time to coax out the power of this BEAST.
I hate Tom "I cheat to win" Brady and the Bill "I never knew a rule I couldn't bend or break" Billichick
Tom \\\ @ Oct 25th 2007 4:41PM
So sexy I am...and now you can see. Just look at me, let my sexyness ooze upon you.
Matt B @ Oct 24th 2007 9:40PM
Day 1 purchase.
People say "Tomb raider with a man".... no tomb raider ever looked this good and played as well.
I feel this is the start of a new franchise.
Haters hate...Players play.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Oct 24th 2007 11:05PM
A better term would be Gears of War with tombs.
Anyways, I'm meh about it. And so far I've been hearing that the controls are a bit icky.
Noshino @ Oct 24th 2007 11:52PM
Ska,
the reviews that mention the controls being "icky" are from the demo, afterwards, many reviewers said that the improvement was great, and that it was pretty much flawless
Mal F4cti0n @ Oct 24th 2007 10:07PM
This looks like a good game for the PS3.
I don't like cartoony platformers (Ratchet and Clank) and I don't like JRPGs, so this makes two games for the PS3 I am interested in (Warhawk being the other).
Keep 'em coming Sony and I will have a Blu-Ray playing, gaming machine to go with my 1080p TV. WoOt!
Mal F4cti0n @ Oct 24th 2007 10:08PM
Oh yeah, and bring me some RumbleZ 2....
Wilhelm @ Oct 24th 2007 10:51PM
This is the first game on the PS3 that has sparked my interest. For real.
*goes back to playing 360*
nick @ Oct 24th 2007 11:02PM
Lol. Jake's like Biff from Back to the Future.
"Why don't you make like a banana and get outta here?!"
gonk @ Oct 25th 2007 1:09AM
only you're the dumb one, not him
B1gC72 @ Oct 24th 2007 11:59PM
glad we're gettin a demo. i think im definitely leaning towards a buy on this one but i think a demo would help me decide to buy or rent. i think it will be a great game but this demo is a great move.
Dirt @ Oct 25th 2007 10:23AM
I got tired of Tomb Raider games after the Tomb Raider 2. Are people seriously looking forward to this? People keep saying how great it looks, but their said that about Lair as well. Who really cares? How about some FUN games instead of just eye candy..
JJ @ Oct 25th 2007 11:04AM
Well wouldnt writing this game off as just a "Tomb raider clone" be as bad as saying all FPS are just Doom clones and never playing anymore of those? or anymore RPGs as their Dragon Warrior clones(it was my first rpg so sue me) and so on and so on? iF that was the case nothing would ever get made.
and as for the FUN part, everything i've seen so far of this game...looks to me like it will be fun, i have no reason to doubt that as every game so far this development team has made i've enjoyed so far.. well mostly anyway.
Cellien @ Oct 25th 2007 11:15AM
So this is a different game than this:?

I keep getting the new Lost video game mixed up with Uncharted but I see they are a little different now. One is more jungle-y.
GrossGreg @ Oct 28th 2007 9:03PM
It's about time Hal Sparks gets his own game!
