Bravely venturing into the comments section on the official PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog's Christian Gyrling has stated that development on shooter slash spelunker Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has come to an end. "We went 'gold' last week," says the game's AI and animation programmer. "Right now the game is in other words 100% done and is currently going through the approval process." But sir, we're sure there's no need for that -- we already approve.
Gyrling also comments on the previously mentioned PSN demo and expects it to be available for download in mid-November. That should give you a fair taste of all the jeep-driving, pirate-shooting, treasure-grabbing and occasionally-falling-to-your-deathing action promised for the game's November 20th release.

it's done, but we'll wait a month before sending it in for manufacture.

they have to do final approval for a few days, then then send it to be mass-produced and shipped out to retailers in time for the street date. that's how this shit works

Welcome to the gaming industry.
There's Dew and Doritos in the break room. You can deposit your penis at the front desk, you won't be needing it.
In the event that you have a gamer girlfriend, your crown and cape will be delivered to your room.

Us PC gamers should be able to get this, with the option of playing with a sixaxis.
I mean c'mon, ps3 has to trade us something for all the Unreal love they're getting.

But you can play games with the sixaxis on your computer, though the tilt doesn't seem to work, and I think the d-pad doesn't work either.
On second thought you're probably better off with a keyboard and mouse.

*Correction*
Actually, I was wrong. They did make a game for the PC. 2 actually, Dream Zone and Keef the Thief. But, that was back in the days of the Genisis(Rings of Power) and the 3D0(Way of the Warrior). They also made Dream Zone for the Amiga. Heh.

I hope it lives up to expectations. Ratchet & Clank is pushing me to desire a PS3, but I refuse to spend that kind of money for only one game. But Drake's Fortune, plus the need to replace my disk-read-error prone PS2, might be enough to convince me to put a PS3 next to my Wii.

If you are looking to retire your PS2, you're gonna have to buy the high-dollar PS3 to play your PS2 game.

I still don't even know what this game is. The only thing I've ever heard of it is, "It's a huge ripoff of Tomb Raider!" And that's from Naughty Dog executives. I might be interested if I didn't hate Jak 2 and 3 so much. (Jak 1 was great, though.)
It's strange that the games getting the best press on PS3 are the ones that are most derivative; arguably this is as true for the 360 (where another Halo game and System Shock 2.1 are games of the year). It's as though Sony and Microsoft are deliberately being as uninnovative as possible to differentiate themselves from Nintendo.

If this plays like any of Naughty Dogs other titles, its gonna be a hit....Its great to see developers like Naughty Dog stick with a certain game and keep it fresh at the same time.

This game is a day 1 purchase for me. The more I see, the more I want it. It looks like developers are starting to get the hang of the PS3. Just like the PS2, it is taking time to coax out the power of this BEAST.

Day 1 purchase.
People say "Tomb raider with a man".... no tomb raider ever looked this good and played as well.
I feel this is the start of a new franchise.
Haters hate...Players play.

A better term would be Gears of War with tombs.
Anyways, I'm meh about it. And so far I've been hearing that the controls are a bit icky.

Ska,
the reviews that mention the controls being "icky" are from the demo, afterwards, many reviewers said that the improvement was great, and that it was pretty much flawless

This looks like a good game for the PS3.
I don't like cartoony platformers (Ratchet and Clank) and I don't like JRPGs, so this makes two games for the PS3 I am interested in (Warhawk being the other).
Keep 'em coming Sony and I will have a Blu-Ray playing, gaming machine to go with my 1080p TV. WoOt!

glad we're gettin a demo. i think im definitely leaning towards a buy on this one but i think a demo would help me decide to buy or rent. i think it will be a great game but this demo is a great move.

Well wouldnt writing this game off as just a "Tomb raider clone" be as bad as saying all FPS are just Doom clones and never playing anymore of those? or anymore RPGs as their Dragon Warrior clones(it was my first rpg so sue me) and so on and so on? iF that was the case nothing would ever get made.
and as for the FUN part, everything i've seen so far of this game...looks to me like it will be fun, i have no reason to doubt that as every game so far this development team has made i've enjoyed so far.. well mostly anyway.

I keep getting the new Lost video game mixed up with Uncharted but I see they are a little different now. One is more jungle-y.
