We always said we'd cut off our left hand ring finger and replace it with a retractable blade to find out the Assassin's Creed release date. Fortunately, Ubisoft didn't make us keep our end of the bargain, announcing the game has gone gold and will arive November 13 -- that's less than three weeks away.
In what is now an uncharacteristic move, the game will come out simultaneously on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A limited edition version will be made available at the usual $10 addition ($69.99). As noted by the press release, those who order either version from GameStop will also receive an art book.

Great, I can't wait for another round of impossibly compressed, side-by-side comparison videos between the two versions. And then the inevitable "it runs at a higher FPS on console X, but has more detail on console Y" debates.

Ill wait for all the reviews to pour in. Not a first day purchase for me. So lets see which platform gets a higher score since I presume there has been about the same developement time on both. I have a hunch though and it starts with an X FTW!! Hehehehehehehehe!!

We know you dont have a PS3 fenix. So if the PS3 gets higher reviews will you not play it for your 360? Will that force you to buy a PS3? haha!

Maybe he's gonna wait until it gets cheaper to buy it. I know I am. I'm poor from buying halo 3 and bioshock. Not only that, my girlfriend's birthday just passed, and Christmas is coming up. Can't be greedy with what I have left =\ Gotta buy presents.... *sigh*

I don't think there should be a limited edition before we find out if the IP is decent or not.
And my expectations are low for the game.

That has me worried, to say the least. I really want to buy this game but the actual gameplay videos have turned me off a bit. Hopefully, the reviews will give everyone a good picture of how it has turned out.

Pretty sure this game is gonna suck.. Every preview i've read so far is far from enthusiastic about it. With a release date that close..obviously not much is gonna change. I'm predicting an average score of high 7's or low 8's

maybe not suck, but it'll have obvious drawbacks that will hinder the score. I'm not sure what to personally think of this game based on videos. Gameplay looks a little repetitive, especially considering i've already gotten my building climbing fix from crackdown.

I think you've been sniffing a little bit too much of your namesake -- comparing Crackdown to Assassin's Creed...come on now.

I haven't been sniffing anything, thank you very much...however making mindless remarks without putting some thought into it first makes me question your own sniffing habits...
I never compared game genres or the games themselves, just an aspect of the game that both Assassins Creed and Crackdown happen to share, which is vertical scaling of high buildings. Just saying the videos make it seem like that climbing a building is your best option for evading guards after they've caught on to you (the equivalent of hiding in the shadows in Splinter Cell), and I can imagine that getting quite repetitive.
Point being, Ubisofts emphasis on the fact that you can climb any 3D structure has less appeal considering I could climb to the top of pretty much anything in crackdown too, albeit in a much more unrealistic fashion. It got old in Crackdown, and all I'm saying is that it'll probably get old in AC too if they expect you to do it every time you wanna get away. Not comparing the games themselves to one another though, obviously they're quite different from one another in every other aspect, i'm not an idiot.

Really want this to be good, but have my doubts with the enemy AI that stand idle whilst you run past them or are in combat with another enemy.
Ah well, the platforming and actual planning the assassinations looks great.

Wait people, you're complaining that you can run past enemies as an ASSASSIN? Last time I checked, assassins were supposed to rely on speed and stealth to eliminate single targets, not fight dozens of enemies in lengthy fights. I'm fairly sure their "idle AI" is supposed to keep you alive since they should technically destroy you if you ever screw up.

How does that work out?
If you screw up, why should the game forgive you with AI that simply stands around, the game should punish you by making the escapes more difficult.
I'll be revealing myself just for some intense escapes. I'm personally not into complete stealth, this game gives you the option of the level of stealth you take.

if you absolutely have to have them both on release day and are incapable of making up your own mind about which one to get then i guess you need to find a way to get anther $60 to spend...
it seems to me that most people would be able to make the decision of which to get right away and which can wait if they can't blow that much cash at one time. based on the completely different gameplay represented by each game it shouldn't be too hard to see which is a must have based on your own personal preferences.
gotta give you points for spelling "loser" correctly and not "looser", most people who resort to name calling on the internet typically can't even spell this most popular and uncreative insult correctly.

I suppose the whole point of his comment though is that there really is no choice, as mario galaxy is clearly the superior of the two.
Now I have enough money for both, now the problem is which one to play more.
In any case, you're a moron for trying to make it seem like this game isn't competing for Mario Galaxy money because its on another platform.

yeah, i guess you're right... how dare i have an opinion, i must be a moron.
what was i thinking, just because there may be an overlap in customers it's possible for two different games to actually cater to different audiences? obviously i'm a loser for not thinking that every mario game is the be all, end all pinnacle of gaming excellence. ubi might as well scrap it, turn out the lights and lock the doors and let nintendo put out mario's creed and super assassin galaxy so we won't have to make these tough decisions. after all, they're never going to make any sales releasing a game the same day as a mario game.
