Did Joystiq post the news that Smash Bros Brawl will have a recording feature, and that you can send recordings to friends?

@ Psaakyrn:

What moves are you talking about? He had FLUDD in Mario Sunshine. His Mario Tornado is basically the spin he had in Super Mario World when you pressed the 'A'. He was able to throw punches in Super Mario 64. He has always been able to throw fireballs ( with a fireflower power up). For Melee he could use the cape, which he also had in Super Mario World. The only move they've made up for him is the Final Smash Attack.

FLUDD: new to SSBB.
Tornado: that was a down spinning move. They practically altered it entirely.
Punches: not a move in what we're talking about (I think it's obvious we're talking about special attacks)
Fireballs: My mistake, thought it's item-based. I did remember somethign like a fireflower, though apparently my memory's wrong.

In comparison, Original Ridley, from Metriod Zero:
Fireballs: 2 versions (ground and air) (yay cliched attacks)
Pogo-tail
Tail-swipe *granted this could possibly classify as a normal attack*
Swoop+catch

The biggest problem would probably be that Ridley has always been a mostly airborne creature, but technically he wouldn't be the first (master hand was also exclusively airborne). If we assume that Ridley remains perpetually airborne, the move-list would be easier to fathom (since there wouldn't be a segregation of jump and non-jump special attacks) and his flight would no longer be fixed to a single direction. (yes, most characters can only fly in one direction at a time. But that's more of a guideline: Diddy Kong appears to be able to fly in both directions when using his ultimate.)

If assuming Ridley's air-exclusive:
Special, Back Special: Fireballs, back-special will aim downwards.
Down Special: Tail Stab + bounce. Can be done in diagonals. Holding down will make it bounce along.
Forward Special: Rush + grab, further button combos to other attacks.
Up special: Tail spin.

Psaakyrn, the fire flower in Smash Bros is the item that is used as a flamethrower that lasts for about 10 seconds. They hold it in front of their faces and flames shoot out when you press A, doesn't shoot fireballs.

Man, I'd love to see Geno from Super Mario RPG. Not sure if he's a Nintendo of Square character though.

Doesn't matter, does it? Anyone who has appeared on a Nintendo console is up for grabs. If it is Square Enix' character, they might need to ask permission, but then, come on. It was a Mario game. I'm sure Nintendo holds all rights to everything that appeared in it anyways.

Anyways, I'm with you though. I want Mallow and Geno to make a return to the current world of gaming. *starshot!* *pew pew pew*

Awesome, all the players are present for an all-kirby Brawl; Sword, Hammer, and Stomach

Once i get this, my avatar will become Dedede Kirby or Sonic Kirby

I was surprised at this one too, but then again Sakurai would show preference to the series he fostered. And i echo the sentiments against his 4Kids voice

Not really a fan of this selection... I'm sure he'll grow on me (as every character in Melee did), but my initial reaction was "meh".

Give me Megaman!!

Wow they've already unveiled 23 characters for Brawl! Weren't there only 25 characters TOTAL in Melee?? The final character roster should be pretty impressive. I just hope that there's a healthy dose of hidden characters that are never revealed on the Dojo site.

I sure hope Samus can call upon a Metroid to do some devastating attacks, perhaps drain some points from the opponent and transfer to her.

This game needs Ridley.. Anybody who says he he's too big has never seen the original metriod..

http://www.emulationgalaxy.co.yu/images/edit/metroid/metroid_1.gif

In fact, he changes size and shape in almost every game.

And I hope all these characters are selectible right off the bat, it wouldnt be cool if they revealed all the hidden characters before the game comes out.

I never really liked the slow characters, except for Captain Falcon, just because he was so funny.

They ought to just say, "Every Nintendo character ever made is in this game" stop telling us who's in it one-by-one, and get the damn game out already.

I am mostly just worried about returning characters I was insanely in love with, like Mewtwo. Mewtwo was awesome.

And Luigi!

Ah well, Luigis always a secret character anyway...

More characters is never a bad thing though.

About the metroid characters...

/METROID PRIME 3 100% ENDING SPOILER/

Other than maybe a space pirate (or a space pirate commando! >:D) the best character would probably be Sylux, because as the 100% ending for MP3:C shows, he's has some kind of special relevence to the Metroid series that the other MPH characters don't.

Just checked out today's update. His moveset looks awesome and powerful, then again, for being like that it'll end up being difucult to dominate at first, but dangerous when completely dominated.

I'm so going to play as him, after I play with Snake and Sonic that is, and if he ends as an unlockable, I'll try him out after I unlock him.

If King Dedede can make it, Geno should be one of the "secret" characters not mentioned in the web-site.
