I'm glad to hear that some developers care about the community. Without consumer support, there will be no games to create DLC for.

I'm a 35 years old guy and I'm planning to buy a game console to make the winter easier... I've heard a lillte bit about Nintendo Wii, XBox360 and PS3, but at the end of the day, which one is better? I saw a poll at http://www.pollvox.com/VoteFor.aspx?pollID=111 indicating that Nintendo Wii is better, but how much beter? Can anyone help?

Long live Turn 10 Studios !!!
I still cant believe that forums could actually serve a real purpose other than complaining (well, its still complaining, I know!)
I hope you guys (Turn10) get to be the ones who continue the Project Gotham Racing series... Im sure you could release a forza game every two years and a PGR game every other year...
Cars are cars right ??

Or maybe they initially were going to price it at 400 points, but someone in the marketing dept. said,

"why don't we say it's going to be 600 points and then a couple days leter we pretend we are listening to the people and drop the price to 400 points"

Yes, No, Maybe....I thought of it; definately someone who makes more money than me could too.

Carlos...

360 has the biggest library of games with some stellar titles coming out soon...plus all the great titles already out:
Halo 3
Orange Box (PS3 as well)
Great racing games (Forza, PGR, Dirt)
Crackdown
etc...
..it also has great online content, with what is widely considered to be the best of the wireless experiences.

Wii is alright...I have one, kinda ignore it unless people come over there...it's like a "party console" to me, haha.

PS3...umm...well...it has blue ray...and Metal Gear...nothing that really appeals to me *shrugs*

Depending on your own personality and lifestyle, carlos, any console can be yours.

A so-called "casual gamer" with not very much time on his or her hands might find the addictive gameplay of the motion-sensitive Wii attractive. Good games include Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3 and Wii Sports. Price is around $269 depending on where you live.

The more hardcore gamer or one who owns a media centre might find the other two consoles better.

For example, both the 360 and the PS3 support HDMI with the 360 offering a HD-DVD addon for $200 (?) and the PS3 supporting Blu-ray out of the box.

As for games for the 360 and PS3, the 360 has the largest library being on the market longer than its competitors with games such as Halo 3, the Orange Box and the soon-to-be-released Mass Effect. Prices are around $300 for the console.

As many forum-goers will complain about, the PS3 does not have a strong library, although many will like the destructive gameplay of Rachet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.Prices are around $500 for the console.

I'm buying this and rubbing it on the faces of RedOctane. This is what developers should be doing, listening to the people who support them.

(reposted from the original thread)

I'm curious if anyone is aware of what has happened over at Turn 10.

I'll summarize:

Forza had a big cheat glitch in the money/auction house.
Instead of fixing it, Turn 10 decided to issue a "gotcha" patch
that would disable your career, your credits, your cars, and wipe out your stats.

The problem is that the patch does not discriminate. It looks for people who have Forza game save data on more that one device (like most people who used the duped car glitch).

So... honest people (like me) and hundreds of others that had a back up game saves on their memory unit applied the new patch only to find that we could no longer load the careers that some of us have spent more than 80+ on.

All tolled, I lost 4 million+ credits (that I fucking earned), 122 tuned cars and 31 custom paint jobs. What's even worse, is you have to start the game over from the beginning.

This began happening back in August. To date, Turn 10 has done nothing to solve this problem. They haven't even said if it IS solvable.
Now they come out some some VERY overpriced content to add to a game that has been broken since day 1.

Someone (cough:X3F:cough) should get a scoop from the guys at Turn 10.

They are refusing to respond to the thousands of posts n the FM2 forums. People are livid and rightly so. They made the gamers pay for their shoddy coding which allowed the glitch to begin with.

so how 'bout it X3f? Care to give Dan Greenwalt a call?

I'm getting sick of people naming the 360 as the console for the "Hardcore".
Like hell it is.
So, what now, hardcore gamers = people who love shooters, and sports games?
When did this happen?

There IS no console for the hardcore gamer right now. None.
It's STILL the PS2.

This gen sucks. The closest we have to a successor to the variety/quality of SNES/PS1/PS2 titles is the DS, and I find that personally extremely depressing.

That was sarcasm, right? Right?

As far as I'm concerned, hardcore gamers play games more than most, regardless of the genre.

I'm with Snap Count (#6). $5 is still too damn much for a single track. Sure 5 is better than 7.50, but I'm not buying it either way.

still to high for one track if you ask me. i think the whole DLC concept is getting out of control. Between some companies charging for stuff already on the disc and other charging stupid amounts for things that should have been on the disc anyway. but thats just one mans opinion i guess

I give them props but I'm skeptical. Who sells content at 600 MS points? $7.50? What an odd amount. I bet they planned to drop the price all along (they exclusively "leaked" info to that one website....)

But anyway whatever, I am glad the content costs less even though I dont own Forza

I don't know man. Is this where we're headed? Pay $60 for a game and then shell out 5 bucks every time the developers make a new track for it? Where is the limit? If they brought out a new track every month, would gamers continue to buy? That would end up being a costly game.
I love Xbox Live and the whole download thing, but this just doesn't sit well.

That's what their plan must have originally been. State download content price too high, wait for the outroar and lower it so that we like them more...

You guys are all praising turn 10. Some people in this thread commenting about purchasing the tracks just because they listen to the fans and lowered the price. Then another commenting about how 400 points is still too high.

did anyone stop to think that this was turn 10s plan all along? Let release announce the release of a track worth 200 point for 600 points. Community complains, we listen and drop price to 400 points, people love us and we sell more.

Everything is marketing guys. Sorry but big companies are all in it for the money.

And BTW, Carlos is just trolling/spamming his poll. Nobody really talks like that on the internet. If you were fooled by him thinking it was legit I laugh to you.
