Update: The game uses specific Friend Codes, which I didn't expect. So, I've updated the post with my game-specific code below. The other code is for my Wii, so please don't send me any disturbing pictures.

We just got a nice little package in from Nintendo, containing a copy of Battalion Wars 2 for the Wii, along with the cool helmet you see there. Pretty nice of the Big N, if you ask us, and since we've got to review the thing (our job is really tough sometimes), we wanted to see if any of you wanted to give the multiplayer a try with us. So, tomorrow night at 9PM EST, we're going to meet up in our usual Game Night IRC chat for DS Fanboy (#dsfanboy). If you don't have an IRC client (try mIRC or the Chatzilla plug-in for Firefox), then you won't be able to take part in the fun.

Thats awesome! I wish my local gamestores got the game today, but alas, it seems that I'll be waiting about 2 weeks, and pay about 20 usd extra, for the "privilege" of gaming in Mexico.

So, clear this issue for me...

This game requires Wii Friend Codes, and NOT Mii-specific friend codes?
Or do you need a Wii FC in order to add a MiiFC?

I'll have had the game for about an hour by then, and I didn't play the first one, so I'm not going to know what the hell I'm doing.

Seriously, I want to know if this games worth picking up. Nintendo have done their usual and released what could be a big seller with barely a whisper of information on the title, don't they like selling games or soemthing?

OK, so can anyone clear up some questions about this game for me?

Is this a true multiplayer experience? For example, aside from the cutesy graphics, is it ultimately going to have as many people playing at once as, say, Battlefield 2?

Also, do I really have to have friend codes from people in order to play anyone online? I seriously can't just get online and find someone random to play, or a server full of people? I have no friends with Wii's so this could make or break the game for me.

I appreciate anyone who knows and can answer these questions. Thanks!

Loving this game so far! Two battles online and so far not the slightest lag.

And um... this uses it's own Friend Code. Not the Wii Friend Code. I couldn't enter Dave's Friend Code because it's too long.

To clear up the question from an above poster, you can choose to play a random person without having friend codes. I doubt friend codes will be popular, of course unless you know the person personally and call them up and say, hey lets play BWii.... I am not going to enter a bunch of codes to 'maybe' get someone online the same time I want to play, I'm just going to hit the random person button.. I've done it so far, and did not have to wait longer than 2 minutes.
