Guitar Hero III gets offline mode with patch on 360
Those who fired up their new copies of Guitar Hero III yesterday might have been disheartened to find that the game lacked the offline co-op quickplay mode. Luckily (for a portion of you, at least) that's going to be addressed with a quickness, thanks to a patch that 1UP says is coming this Tuesday to Xbox Live.
The bad news is that there's no word of similar treatment on the Wii or PS3 versions so far, but hopefully it's not too far off. We're not sure what's so difficult about offline co-op quickplay that it had to be addressed with a patch, but we're happy that Activision seems concerned enough about it to act on it so quickly. Of course, that's not much comfort to those without internet or (we're looking at you new Arcade owners) a hard drive to save the patch on.

He had to call another store and have them verify that the games were missing before eventually giving the customer a copy.
Now the problems with off line co-op. This game was RUSHED out.

Y'see, back in MY day when we didn't have all these new fangled, fancy consoles that dun connect to that thar...inna'net y'all keep goin' on 'bout, our games was actually finished when we boughts 'em from th' STORE. We didn't "down-load" 'em off the computer and we SHO' as a cricket is brown didn't have to get some sorta fixin' to make the game complete! Nah, we bought our games and if they wasn't all there, 100 per-cent, we grabbed out pitchforks, shook 'em round fo' a bit, put 'em down, picked up our pens and wrote a good ol' fashioned letter expressing our...displeasure at the situation. 'CASSIONALLY, if we was REAL lucky, we'd even get sumptin' from 'em in th' MAIL as their way o' sayin', "We sorry, Mr. samfish! T'ain't gun' happen again!"

You dont need the HD to patch games. A memory card is fine.

IMO Neversoft/Activision bit off more than they can chew with this game... they should have just went for GH2 with new songs and all the online trimmings. Releasing a game before it's finished... when a producer doesn't even know what version shipped is just sad.
