Some other reviews said the PC Engine emulation sucked.

@ GrimReaper, David -- trust me, I've finished everything (except SotN... don't feel like playing through the whole thing again). Though I did forget to talk about Boss Rush mode... oh well. I'll add an addendum.

I think this coverage is EXCELLENT - thank you! This is precisely the sort of detailed effort that makes PSP Fanboy my first and last visit of the day when looking for PSP news.

This is the game that finally got me to pick up a PSP. That being said, after beating the new Rondo, I don't think I'll ever play it again. As much as I liked the original, all the old Castlevanias, and even the Rondo-lite Dracula X for SNES, this game just didn't do it for me. Most of the time I found the gameplay utterly annoying. I used to play Dracula X for SNES all the time, it was great to go through again and again. This one I just don't even feel like it, so many cheap shots and hints at poor design. (How many of you got hit whenever Dracula turns around, be honest.) Ah well, nice to Have SotN on a portable, even though they substituted some awful sound effects instead of the originals. Another "ugh" is when using "soul steal", if anything hittable is on the screen, the voice cuts out after "soul". I know this stuff is trivial, but usually the castlevania games have so much attention to detail, this one doesn't give me that impression at all. Still a decent game (especially since you get three!) but it's still the worst castlevania I've played since Castlevania 2 or any of the original Game Boy ones.

by the way, if you dont know this..at some point there like 3 tall little statues of a man and a little further a bell, i hitted the statues so they turn to one side at once and then a big heart fell from the inside of bell.

Also there is 3 unlockables, Rondo of blood PC engine version, sotn, and peke; that game comes when you had no hu card in or wrong hu card in the pc engine duo when playing rondo, its a short level but its a parody level
