- Reduced network bandwidth usage in multiplayer.
- Improved overall game performance.
- Arranged search results to favor preferred host conditions.
- Improved searching for ranked games.
- Addressed a possible false report of too little storage space on larger hard drives (not this again!)

You'll forgive us for missing this tidbit of news this weekend, as we (along with some of you, no doubt) were much too enthralled by the other, other, other, other Game of the Year, this one nestled in Valve's sumptuous Orange Box. If you wanted to add Team Fortress 2 to your list of yearly praise but felt that lag ruined the experience, perhaps the title update for the Xbox 360 version will do away with your doubts. The following technical alterations to the charming multiplayer romp should take effect the next time you load up the game whilst signed in to Xbox Live:

I don't know about anyone else, but this patch didn't seem to do much for me-- in fact I'm now dropping out on games on a regular basis.
Is anyone experiencing any issues after the patch?
I'm going to remove my router from the equation and plug directly into my internet connection, but I'm not so sure that's the problem, as I wasn't experiencing this many drop outs prior to the patch.
I couldn't complete a single game I tried to play yesterday

They really need to fix the lobby system. I love not being able to tell how many people are actually in the room, due to people quitting or whatever. Since the game thinks there are so many people in the room, like if the teams are odd, or there aren't enough people inthe lobby, you have to restart the server. It's a pain in the ass.

Maybe its your connection, Make sure your NAT status says OPEN. Thats usually why peoples Xbox Live connections suck.

Works great. Now, I wish they would add dedicated servers.

For me the issue isn't NAT. Mine is open.
I'm beginning to wonder if the issue is the host. It seems to happen more often if you have large games. The screen will just start shaking and you have trouble walking or do anything. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you're dropped.

i read that halo matches are partially hosted by all players, maybe tf2 doesn't do that and hence the lag?

Dedicated servers... are you crazy? What makes you think Microsoft can
afford to put up dedicated servers for a service that we all need to pay 50 bucks a year for?
But seriously now.. what the hell IS the money going towards? Keeping the servers that run the micro transactions online?
360 is great and all but Microsoft needs to get off their stingy asses and put dedicated servers up for every game. Getting shafted with laggy peer to peer play would be fine if you didnt have to pay 50 bucks a year for the privilege.

It's definately worse SINCE the patch. I had trouble with a major of the games I played yesterday.
I seriously hope someone from Value or Microsoft is reading this, as this is a great game, but has serious network issues with larger multiplayer gamers.
