The somewhat controversial Doritos sponsored Unlock Xbox contest wrapped some two months ago and now we've been sent word that the voting phase has just begun. If you hop on over to the Unlock Xbox website, you'll be able to play the five finalists' games in their beta state and get your vote on. Though, the five games (Monkeys From Mt. Doritos, Doritos Dash of Destruction, Ultimate Dodgeball Championship, Rythum Racing and PB's Quest for Flavor) can only be demoed online in your internet browser, so for now you'll have to garner an opinion playing them that way. Some of these XBLA games are a bit shameful, some are surprisingly good, but only one can win and only the Xbox 360 community can decide. Cast your vote wisely fanboys, we don't want to have to go through another Yaris experience next year ... eesh.

Okay they all suck, controls are clunky and I can't figure out how dorito's fits into the dodgeball and rythum racing games. I think that I'd pick the monkey game, because, well it's monkeys

Dodgeball is the only game that will be a playable that will not Yaris us to death.

Well, of course the controls are clunky. These demos require you to use a keyboard.

I must have missed something, why was/is the Doristos sponsored deal controversial?

I haven't played Yaris yet but its gotta be better than any of these games. These are the worst games I've ever seen.
From what I've been reading the finalists were picked based on the descriptions of the games not the betas. Supposedly there were much better betas that didn't make it because the game description didn't get high enough marks from judges.

@7, For the record, BK Bumper Ice Hockey owned hardcore. If it wasn't the laggiest thing ever over live, it would have been even better.

Hey guys. I'm the guy who came up with the idea for Rythum racing. I have to agree with you guys that the demo does not show all the potential from the original idea. I am very critical of games too. If I win I'll do everything I can to make a game worth playing. The thing you should keep in mind when looking at the rythum racing demo is that we only had 2 months make a sample for voting. It also needed to be simple enough to run on a wide variety of PCs and run off of an internet plugin. Keep voting for rythum racing and have faith.
