Also, achievement progress seems like something that games would have to do themselves... I just can't see it being simple enough to do in a dashboard update.

-Web Browser
-DVD and HDDVD ripper (as in ripping them to your hard drive, therefore bigger hard drives wouldnt go a miss lol). Would be a major selling point for HDDVD if you could rip your HD movies to your XBOX 360
-Codecs, they should even just put a video codec pack on the marketplace that you pay for if you want DivX and so on, id be fine with that
-Synchronise your ZUNE, would be a good selling point for the Zune if you could hook it up to your 360 and synch the music and videos from your 360's HD to the ZUNE without ever having to turn on a pc. Also, combining the 360 marketplace and the zune marketplace would be a decent idea

I want Xvid support. Not for pirated movies; not even for TV torrents. I want it because that's the format I've been using to store my recordings of Mister Rogers. I'm not kidding: if you have a two-year-old and have found something else to put on TV that a) they enjoy and b) does not make you want to jam a fork in your own eye, please let me know. Until then, I'll just keep transcoding my Xvid archives and MPEG-2 originals into h264. It's working pretty well, but it's really slow going on my ancient P4 2.4C.

Almost forgot: please, please, *please* add a "Playlist" feature for videos! On any other system I can queue up multiple videos and have them play back-to-back, but on the 360 I have to wait for one to stop, navigate to the next one, then select it, then select "Play". This is a pain and a needless imposition.

A browser. Microsoft owns the worlds most popular browser, you think they could shoehorn it into the 360 somehow.

Make the 360 a v.2 Media Center Extender. This includes divx/xvid support that has already been implemented in v.2 extenders.

I would really love to see an overhaul of the Music player and video interface. It would be nice to be able to browse by cover art and get ride of that horrible visualization that makes me feel like I have just done acid every time I listen to a song.

360 XBMC skin is a vast improvement on the current interface why can't Microsoft take some tips from them.

A How Many Players Are Currently Playing feature

I really want a way to look at my list of Played Games and be able to tell how many people are playing that game right now. This can be an opt in feature. This is useful because I may pick up an old game or rental and want to see if there's anyone playing online that I could join or play against. It sucks to put the game into my system, wait for it to start up a game up go, to Xbox live within the game and try to find a game and then be told none can be found.

The update needs to have a solution to downloaded content being playable offline again due to a 360 breaking and getting sent a different one.
Other than that, more characters in a gamer motto would be nice as well as the ability to make your OWN themes for the dash board.
And how about 12 achievments and a 200 gamerscore for all xbox original games.

I would like to see a web browser, Netflix support, Dvix and Xvid!

And the big suggestion that I have. I would like to see video conferencing with MSN Messenger to talk to other people that don't have a Xbox 360...

Oh and update the original Xbox (not 360) dashbord so that it doesn't look so damn old!

1. Xbox Internet browser
2. Video market place for Europe.( ...But that maybe isn't an update for xbox... More like deals between microsoft and other media companies.) = More downloadable HDmovies and streams.
3. h264, x264, mkv, Xvid, Divx support, and so on.
4. Support for wireless 802.11N. HD streaming wireless!
5. HD-IPTV. (Hey we can hope, can we!?! This isn't what IS going to be in the update. It's what we want to be in the update.)
6. media search option.
7. Your ordinary folder-type media library for media files.
8. Better color/black level support for VGA output. adjustable levels or more presets. Black still isn't black. And the colors go haywire. Well they are at least over saturated.

Well that's a few... Maybe pop in later with more..

1. Windows Vista Like themes, all customizable blades background.

2. Online radio station, can play and listen to radio. Just like the background music players.

3. Xbox Live video Blog. This can really create a n interactive Community beyond gaming.

4. More codecs support. Divx, etc.

5. Internet Browser.

6. update to DVD drive to slow the speed down a little so that it can further reduce the awful sound that the xbox 360 drive make.

7. Multiple Realtime Chatting( Windows Messenger)

Although DivX/Xvid support would be nice, it's not going to happen

I guess a browser would be nice,

While we're talking about this, why wont my Xbox 360 recognize my 1g iPod Nano when I plug it in via USB. It's weird cause it charges but the console doesn't detect an mp3 player connected. Can anybody help?

XVID FTW, if I can get my AVI's to work on my 360, life would own. SUPA Hi Res video is a beautiful thing and should not be constrained by the lack of XVID support. So hopefully we'll be seeing a XVID flaunting Fall Update in the next few days.

As much as I would like the Divx support I'd rather have a feature that is like Apple's itune where I can disable my boughten stuff with MS point on matched console and relocated to the new one since I'm fed up trying to get internet access on some of my XBLA games (paying x2 for then on a sep account sucks even more) and realized that oh shit I have to have internet for this game/maps or even better your game playing gamertag isn't the one that owns it(XB360 Lan without internet can seriously hamper on the fun).
I really don't know why not use the marriage the boughten stuff on the hard drive, think about it console break more then HDD and the sale of 120GB HDD will skyrocket.

Yea I know some of you would say gee why don't you create a new gamertag and have nothing but boughten stuff and log in (with internet if not the origional) as the second player. Guess what what about games like GoW and multiplayer maps (yea it's free now but not while back) you can't access live MP when second profile is on so that idea is ruined.
As much I like digital downloads on certain stuff I feel that most company are going overboard and gouging us gamers and they know they can get away with it.

Other thought though is what will happen to our "boughten" stuff when the next version of Xbox comes out?? Makes you wonder if it's going to be BC with 360 marketplace and be able to be played on the next Xbox or are we SOL? If I remembered right the XBA on Xbox can't be played on your 360 account.... I weep for the future console gaming.
