Word. Casual games are best while sitting high atop the porcelain throne, clutching the mobile communication device you have come to know and love.

And everyone knows cats suck, that's public knowledge.

Well, how do you consider a game to be "casual"? If it's a non-game? Or if it makes you relax? Really, ANY game can make you active.

I'm male, and I play Brain Age 2 and Ouendan 2. I've also played the first Brain Age and Animal Crossing: Wild World. I've also been playing the DS Castlevania games pretty casually recently XD

Um, yeah. Big Zuma fan here. By the way, if they play Halo 3, you can look at their gamertags for the casual games they've played.

Why? Because the majority of those who enjoy the mediocrity of Halo were previously only far enough in the gaming market to purchase the latest GTA and Madden? Because Halo was likely their first FPS, aside from possibly Goldeneye 007? That sounds pretty casual to me. It also speaks loads for their knowledge of the genre.

I think we need a clear definition of casual games. According to this article and many of these comments,

casual game: any puzzle game that can be downloaded from the internet and played on your computer

Anyway, yeah, I played the Peggle demo. It was pretty cool, but if I were to pay for the full version of any Popcap game (oh yeah, I'm cheap), it'd be Bookworm Adventures.

Cats > Dogs

This is what Yahoo! Games (shameless plug) is for... I don't really care about loading my PSP with puzzle games... That is until I find a version of Tetris... But yeah, if I want to play Zuma, or otherwise, I'll just get online. And I won't hide it...

why is cracking a $20 game of peggle "sadder" than cracking the $50 orange box? i'm guilty of having cracked games such as text twist, zuma, and bookworm in the past. you know why? these game's aren't worth my money.

They're worth the time you spent cracking them, and the time you spent playing them, but they're not worth your money. Care to explain the logic here, cause I'm not seeing it.

time spent cracking = approximately 20 seconds. they're not worth the money because i could just as easily play them online. i could see spending maybe $5 for slight upgrades, but $20? that's a ripoff and popcap knows it.

Listen to Darrel, kids: Your only Hardcore@ for playing the games HE says. Otherwise, when you die you'll go into Hardcore Hell and be forced into playing Carnival Gamer, Thrillville and such. I can let you wail on Halo all day, but suggesting Nonhardcor-ness unto a WHOLE BUNCHA people isn't kind without evidence.

Seriously, men don't talk about casual games because they arn't worth talking about. Playing, perhaps, talking no.

What is this "Casual" and "Hardcore" games thing?

I play good games.

Why the fuck is there a split? What do certain games that are "casual" need to sit at the back of the bus now?

Dogs beat the living crap out of cats. I have NO idea what that has to do with the actual article, but I strongly believe in this statement.

Furthermore, I've always liked casual games. Wii sports is fun, I've always been down with columns, and tetris and the like. and I also play hardcore. We man gamerz just play games. we don't care what kind they are as long as they're fun.

I love casual games, and everyone I know does too. After a session of Bioshock or Halo 3, I am known to unwind with a nice round of Peggle or Bookworm Adventure. I had no idea there was a stigma involved.
