See more Uncharted with new trailer

The demo for ProStreet was crap. If you want a good arcadey racer get PGR4. Oh, and just because you may not be interested in Uncharted doesn't mean the PS3 has no games... the games don't go away for everyone simply because you blindy write them off.

You seem to be arguing two different things. First you'll say that Uncharted won't save the PS3, which may indeed be true, tough that likely won't have anything to do with the quality of the game... but then you end up by claiming it's just the same old shit in new packaging. WTF? Is the market really flooded with adventure games? Then add in the fact that you just said you loved ProStreet... that really is the same old shit in new packing. I mean, I personally don't buy into the thinking that a game has to be "new" to be fun, but if you're going to try and use that argument you had better attempt to use it across the board for all the systems or expect to get called on it.

Anyway, about ProStreet, I played the demo just night and didn't like it at all. I thought the controls were pretty bad. The cars simply don't handle well at all. I had some other minor annoyances, but the way the cars handled just killed it for me. Overall, PGR4 just seems like a far more polished product.

well i'm glad you're enjoying all those other games... so am i.

difference is i'll also be able to enjoy drake and everything else coming to the PS3 because once i bought the 360 i didn't drink the kool-aid and buy into the whole "sony sucks" mantra that everyone seems to love repeating.

and yeah, the Wii is for kids, grandmothers and everyone in between... why get defensive over that?

Robert, you made several mistakes while posting on Joystiq. Allow me to list them so that you don't repeat the same mistakes last time.

1. You commented that this game looks good and if it were not on PS3, it would be getting praise. While this "what if" scenario is supposedly unprovable, Assassin's Creed, DMC4, and even VF5 all poke up to say hello. All three games that were bashed to oblivion... until they went multiplat. This is an unspoken hypocrisy. Speak not of it and you won't have people jump at you.

2. This a Sony deved game. Obviously they suck all around. How dare you question this unquestionable.

3. Cap was lurking... he lives to be a moron. Let someone else be the shiny object to attract his attention.

Like I mentioned above, it hasn't, Mario HAS been done over and over, and so has Halo, but in your own words, Uncharted is on genre that has only had Tomb Raider on it, so its still counted as original, but "If you think THESE OTHER GAMES ARE in any way original, you're a liar and a moron"

How can you possibly say the genre wasn't done to death after the 6+ tomb raider games (which were by and large fucking pathetic) and all of the PoP games with the same mechanics, but more acrobatics, and less gun warfare. We've been playing 3rd person adventure games since the n64/psx came out.

And because tomb raider didn't do it well, it hasn't been done before? or at this speed? Then Halo must be brand fucking new with only 3 games. IT IS OLD. I don't get how you think this is in any way fresh gameplay. Every single element of gameplay here has been copped.

Where did i once say that this doomed the game? I said the game could still be great. Doesn't have to be unique to be great. Gears is NOT unique in any way. It's an amazing game.

If you're trying to prove that uncharted is unique in any conceivable way, you're dead wrong. The literally hundreds of 3rd person adventure games have treaded all over this territory.

If you're saying that the game can still be great, I'm with you. As I stated in my first post. The fact that it's an unoriginal setting with standard gameplay elements that can be found in any 3rd person shooter is just one thing i don't like about it. I don't think many people truly buy a system for one game. I'm sure anyone buying a PS3 "for Uncharted" is also interested in games like R&C, MGS4, LBP, GT5, Warhawk... plus all the various crossplatform games (COD4, Assassin's Creed, etc...). It's probably more accurate to say that Uncharted was the game that finally tipped the scales and got them to go out and buy the system. There's nothing wrong with being someone who waits for a system to fully establish itself, but if no one bought systems based on future games then almost no systems would sell at launch. The reality is that nearly everyone buys systems based at least partially on future releases.

That's not it at all i think. The textures and environments look incredible. But their much self-lauded animation system that was supposed to be some kind of revolutionary technique must be missing. Because I see the same old "semi-real-not-there-yet-but-with-the-odd-glaring-flaw" animation techniques we see in games like gears, assassin's creed, lost planet, graw2, etc

Never once said the system isn't good. It has TONS of potential. I never once said the gameplay sucked. I can't tell that from trailers. Never claimed to play it, never claimed it was going to suck. Please put on your reading glasses, Beatrice.

I commented on other people's COMMENTS REGARDING GAMEPLAY. Since NONE of us have played it yet. They can't claim that it can or can't be a certain way (ie. like or unlike tomb raider). Not me, not you, not anyone saying it will or won't be amazing.
