We're not sure that Atari completely understands the order trailers are supposed to appear in. Last year, we got a fast-paced, action-oriented trailer for Alone In the Darksupposedly composed entirely from in-game footage. Now we have a new trailer for the game that's a simple, action-free tone-setting piece that doesn't appear to feature any in-engine stuff, unless the "corpse snuggling" mechanics were more robust than we anticipated.
See, the moody, "Please start pre-ordering our game even though you have no idea what it's like" trailer has to be the first one out of the gate, but if you skip it, you can't come back. It's like putting the milk before the horse cart when you've already bought the cow for free. ... Or something like that.
Geez, for a second that freaked me out, but what freaked me out even more was that the music at the beginning reminded me of a shock video that no one wants to know about.
How come in Virtua Figter 5 there are NO cutscenes during the Arcade Mode? I mean is there even a freaking movie at the end of the Arcade mode that tells you what the hell is going on in this game? Or what the conclusion of this chapter in the series is going to be?
I mean I love the characters and I'm starting to enjoy the gameplay. Plus Online is killa but really I play Fighting Games for the storylines as well.
Believe it or not thats part of why I enjoyed Dead or Alive 4. The cutscenes, the movie sequences at the end of each characters journey...just cool stuff.
I'll be really disappointed if VF5 doesn't have that kinda stuff. You'd think Sega would have a clue by now.
I'm sure Soul Calibur IV, the next Tekken (5 or 6?), and probably even the next Street Fighter will have that sort of stuff.
Voted down for being blatantly offtopic. You could at least attempt to spin it to be marginally on-topic, but no, you think your post is so special that it can barge into someone else's party uninvited.
Seeing as how Joystiq in their obvious hard on for all things sony has decided to not do a metareview on VF5 I thought I would just ask a simple question.
The trailer looked alright. Still don't know much about the game so what else is there to say except..."ohhh pretty"
Ummm Joystiq? You might wanna hire some people who know what they're talking about. Anybody that's played games long enough can tell that it's all in-engine stuff. Even the first trailer was.
There are so many tell-tale signs, how can you not see that?? This game looks gorgeous, but I'm sure these videos show FSAA that isnt going to be quite so high in the final game.
