Sadness suspension suspicions sadden some
This is getting ridiculous. Since initially announcing survival-horror project Sadness way back in April 2006 (when the Wii was still called the Revolution, for Pete's sake), Polish developer Nibris has leaked precious little concrete information about the troubled title. Now come word that the game, which was originally slated for Q4 2007 has been pushed back to sometime in 2009, according to an e-mail received by a NeoGAF poster. It's a shame the development progress has been so spotty, since the Wii could definitely use a new horror title that wasn't ported from the GameCube. Here's hoping Sadness ends up coming out before Duke Nukem Forever

'Sadness suspension suspicions sadden some'
Aliteration FTW!
Neebs @ Nov 1st 2007 5:47PM
Alliteration almost always ails anyone after an austere audio audition about an Albanian.
StrangeBum @ Nov 1st 2007 6:37PM
Too bad that instead of alliteration you used assonance there Neebs.
Good game, but god I'm glad that grievance over your grammatical grotesqueness gave me a great amount to govoreet about this glorious day.
azuravian @ Nov 1st 2007 7:18PM
Actually, he used alliteration, in the form of assonance. The two are not mutually exclusive. Alliteration can be assonance, and assonance can be alliteration. In this case, it was both.
On the topic of Sadness, though, I am somewhat saddened by this news.

Sorry, there's a difference between clever use of consonance and an unreadable title.
Flyy (NDF) @ Nov 1st 2007 6:44PM
Lies. I think its beautiful
Mr Khan @ Nov 1st 2007 5:58PM
Ahh Sadness, originally to compete with Galaxy and Mass Effect, now set to compete against RE5 instead
wow

Vaporware.
fawazr @ Nov 1st 2007 6:00PM
The Cake is a lie--wait. Nibris is a lie though.
And the title's plenty readable to me. Looks like someone's just employing a little ASS-onance... get it?
WiNG @ Nov 1st 2007 6:10PM
Hapless hack hurls hokey headline, hence hurting hilarity
elmer @ Nov 1st 2007 6:24PM
While Nibris may in fact never have existed, I feel it's a symptom here of what's happening in the industry. Despite Wii not only suceeding where everyone predicted failure, but breaking all records in the face of losses and troubles everywhere else, Wii development seems to actually be SLOWING DOWN rather than speeding up. What topsy turvy world are we living in? Is this opposite day? but for two years?
GaryM @ Nov 1st 2007 6:26PM
Hadn't heard of this game until now, but after reading some of those linked articles it sounds kind of interesting; hopefully they get it done.
Santo @ Nov 1st 2007 6:26PM
I so badly want this game to be real...
Gavin @ Nov 1st 2007 6:27PM
Sources I cannot name have informed me that Sadness will actually not be a Wii title. Instead it will be ready for launch on the Phantom as well as the N-Gage lite. Of course it will also be competing with Nuke Nukem Forever, Starcraft Ghost, and Elite IV. What a great lineup!!!!
gonk @ Nov 1st 2007 6:33PM
hahahaha the phantom. that's an even bigger joke than the ngage
UndeadPriest @ Nov 1st 2007 6:32PM
Sadness never existed to begin with. Hell, did they even ever reveal the supposed publisher that was set for the idea...err, game? The same "publisher" that dropped support.
Luka M. @ Nov 1st 2007 6:34PM
I wish some titles would never be announced at least a month or two
before the DEFINITE release. A year or two is just ridiculous.
Korova @ Nov 1st 2007 6:35PM
The game's concept is so effective, every developer, investor and published to have looked at the game, have fallen into deep depression and some where committed.
Sad, really.
Chris @ Nov 1st 2007 6:58PM
I, for one, am shocked, SHOCKED!, that a no name developer who had made 0 games ever and never showed anything more than a hokey video of what they hoped game play would look like failed to deliver. No sir, I did not see this one coming at all.
OTAM @ Nov 1st 2007 8:34PM
I want this game to materialize and be released so bad (that is,if it's anything like the videos they put out).
It reminds me of old PC games like the Dark Eye and 7th Guest.
Superstar90 @ Nov 1st 2007 9:39PM
Whatever happened to Project H.A.M.M.E.R.?
Undead Priest @ Nov 2nd 2007 1:30AM
Nintendo officially cancelled it a while back.
ThornedVenom @ Nov 1st 2007 9:58PM
I damn you Nibris for torturing my cruel heart like that, ever since you released that E3 06 video illustrating the kind of gameplay we would have hoped for.
This delay BETTER make the game good, or I'll be veeeery veeery saaaaaaad, like the title.
Anonymousaurus @ Nov 1st 2007 11:42PM
-this saddens me as much as the lack of information about the Bob Ross game.
mr nimblewick (SegaDF - Jogurt Ring) @ Nov 2nd 2007 1:58AM
It has been cancelled.
