I totally agree with you TruthHurts. I'd love to see some downloadable Christian Music for Rock Band. There are THOUSANDS of albums out there of Christian Rock. I am finding new bands every week that I love. I'm not trying to turn Rock Band into "Christian Rock Band", I just want a couple of Christian Rock options that I can PAY to download. I promise not to make anyone pay and download it who doesn't care for it. Shoot I'd pay 2 or 3 times as much money per song to have some Christian Rock options out there.

Switch Foot
Cutless
Mercy Me
Casting Crowns
Plumb
Creed
Third Day
Sanctus Real
Audio Adrenaline
Barlow Girl (more pop than rock)
Grand Prize
Jars of Clay
Reliant K
Olivia the Band
Thousand Foot Crutch
Sonic Flood
Newsboys (new stuff is rock)
TobyMac (Rock, Alternative, & Rap)
POD
SuperChick
DC Talk (new stuff)
Mezzamorphis (ex. Deeper 99)

Oh, and and naturally this is my opinion and was paid for by me, and what every you say, please don't say that these all sound the same, and this is just the Rock category not RAP, Alt, Metal, Punk, etc... that Christian music has.

Just think same sound different words (message), you may not like the message, but if that's the case then don't pay the money and download it, but you might find that you like some of it. I don't really like a lot of the songs in Rock Band, but I bought it because I want to have fun and play in a "band".

That's how I feel about GH3 as well. I'm not that impressed to the point that I'm selling it back today. Bring on Rock Band I say.

I thought it was just me. Seems like one good song per section in the game. The whole "beat # lame songs to unlock one kick ass song" premise is stupid to me.

I just used the unlock all songs code and jam, I hardly bother with the rest of the game.

Yeah, I used an "unlock code" too. It was basically just invite a bunch of people over and have them play the shitty songs for me.

Who? I keed! I'm always interested in listening to new people, testing the waters and such.

Anyway, to those who feel "disappointed" with GHIII, you guys are just upset because Harmonix didn't make it. You are upset so you are more critical of it, and you therefore try to notice all the faults with it that you glossed over in Guitar Heroes I and II. Not saying that Rock Band is worse or better, but it sounds like some people are just jilted because mommy and daddy split up.

Uh, No, GH3 has many glaring faults, like in barracuda, you are not even playing in time with the notes. Or the Hammer downs that go on forever, or the fact that the songs are boring to play, I am tired of songs I hit the same 3 note progression over and over again. There aren't enough riffs, I feel like I'm playing rythym guitar in the main career. Plus there are a lot of songs that just flat out suck.

nothing like holding blue for like an hour in a song, that makes me feel like a guitar god.

People are disappointed because over half the songs are garbage.

In fact, I didn't even know that Harmonix didn't make GH3.

Off time? I haven't noticed anything off time. Must be why I am five-starring everything. And if you don't want to play similar progressions over and over, never take up an actual guitar, because playing songs "for real" can be extremely boring if you don't know how to write music well. Hell, even if you go the cover band route, chances are most songs you'd play would suffer from some repetition. Anyway, what songs are YOU playing that you got bored so easily? There's been repetition since the first Guitar Hero!

Also, on what planet is a set of songs that includes Metallica, Iron Maiden, Santana, Kiss, Rage Against the Machine, Sex Pistols, Tenacious D, Pearl Jam, ZZ Top, old-skool Aerosmith, Living Colour, Slayer, etc. considered a mediocre list?

Well, maybe it's because the list is really heavy and really "metal", but I find it far superior to that of the first three GH games and Rock Band. Maybe you people just aren't metal enough.

Yeah, Cause Pearl Jam is so friggin metal!!! You are tarded, people complained about the "mtv Quality" of songs on GH2, but this stuff is mostly pure drivel. Why not more Megadeth, judas priest, Iron Maiden and the like? No, we get lame assed alternative fucking 3 note repetition fests.

Yeah Mega, most of those bands that you mentioned are good (with the exception of the truly awful Sex Pistols,) but most of the songs they chose were mediocre at best. Plus, there was just something about it that wasn't there in the other 2 games. That je ne sais quoi. Whatever it is, it's missing from GHIII.

I'm glad GHIII has found a defender in you, but from most of the opinions out there, you're on your own.

Actually Synner, it's funny that you mentioned the MTV bands in GHII because I had more fun playing that awful My Chemical Romance's "Dead" in GHII than I ever did playing half the songs that I grew up on and LOVE in GHIII.

Well, if the opinions and comments of the Internet are anything to go by, Wii Sports is the downfall of gaming, Wii Fit won't sell even a thousand copies, everyone owns every game for the NES through Dreamcast and plays them every single week, and (insert potentially good game here) will sell millions of copies even though there is no advertisement for it whatsoever.

Oh, and in regards to the "MTV quality" of Guitar Hero songs, you DO know that Rock Band is published by MTV, right? You don't think that will suffer from some MTV-ness as well?

I dont think theyre saying GH3 is any worse than GH1 or 2. The problem is that it's the exact same "filler" formula where 80% of the songs you dont even want to HEAR again, let alone play. And you have to drag your ass through them in order to get to the real paragon-of-rock caliber of songs.

That'll happen in any game. Tell me honestly that the Rock Band track list doesn't look to follow down the same path.

Anyway, the GOOD songs in GHIII are a lot better than the good songs in previous games, although what constitutes "good" on the intertubes is tough to nail down. The criteria seems to change every five seconds. In any case, I personally enjoyed the bulk of the songs that some people here found boring. That's my personal stance so of course it's not reflective of the greater consumer base, but I guarantee that most of the people who will pick up GHIII (less hardcore gamers and party- and music-lovers) will find the songs to be just dandy. Walk into Best Buy or Target and ask someone picking up the game or playing the demo and see how they respond.

On that we are going to have to agree to disagree. I personally find the tracks listed for Rock Band to be way to slow for a guy who loves speed.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about Flyleaf, It's cool to see Christian bands represented in mainstream media.

Unfortunately that myspace link has a crappy acoustic version of Fully Alive. The band really doesn't translate well to anything other than head banging hard rock.

I'm really hoping the Christian Community gets included in some downloadable content. It'd be really cool to play something like Relient K or Switchfoot. (I wouldn't mind Evanescence or POD either, or get some Stryper in there for the 80's touch ;-) )

Good thing for the rest of us there arent any such bands (or are there?). Christian bands are bad enough.
Remember Rock & Roll is the devils music :p

Look up Whitecross. 90's Christian metal band. Similar sound to Guns N Roses.

And their guitarist could easily rival Slash.

But yeah, since then Christian music has gone to hell.

Get it?

Chris,
I'm also glad to see Christian rock to get some love (even though it's only one song). But Flyleaf is a safe bet since they can be heard on mainstream anyway (like Switchfoot, Relient K, or POD).

Personally, I'd love to see some Thousand Foot Krutch (my favorite), Skillet, Disciple, Pillar, Project 86, etc in there. It'll never happen, but one can always dream ;)

The only Christian band I have ever really enjoyed was The Smiley Kids. The lyrics are way over the top (and terrible) but there's some really great punk and ska/punk in there.

I can't stress enough how laughable the lyrics are.

It was already announced a while ago that "Brainpower" from Freezepop's new album is in the game.

As far as I'm concerned, Guitar Hero 3 isn't really Guitar Hero without Freezepop and Anarchy Club.

Well, on the Wikipedia page it doesn't mention "I Get By," but it does mention Brainpower. But it also mentions a song called Pleasure(Pleasure) by Bang Camaro.

That leaves only three songs left. C'mon Harmonix, can you just give us the rest of the setlist already?

The problem with you posters is that you think your song tastes are the only thing in the world that matters!! You don't have to be a genius to know that people like different songs, therefore different song types in Guitar Hero games. Stop bitching your asses off and enjoy something for once! Or you could go buy "Guitar Hero for Jerry Jamison" or "Guitar Hero for Mark Mallis" when they finally start making games for each and every person. Gosh, you guys are dumb as hell!!!
