Am I the only one who thought "Row, Row, Row a boat..." when looking at those lyrics? :x

Those lyrics are from a song by The Ramones, one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time. Glad to see The Ramones included in the game, although the Wikipedia entry suggests that this particular song (Rockaway Beach) will not be in the game, and Blitzkrieg Bop has replaced it.

Awesome...now just to find room to put the damn thing...

I'm assuming it's some assembly required which might let me save room.

Those just turned out to be demo kits meant for store display, from what I remember.

Only a demo unit? That's rough for the guy buying it thinking he's got the whole thing. As for me, I just put my pre-order in today. These two weeks are going to seem very long, especially knowing everyone else is playing GHIII.

the guy ebayed it for like $300, even after saying it was a demo unit. lol

i think i'll wait for rock band 2 though, maybe they'll add online career mode and good songs. it's owned by EA, so expect one addition per year

I played the demo at Best Buy today. The game is AMAZING.

It's the reason I'm buying an Xbox 360.

I can save you the time. The PS3 version does include a dongle.

"Naturally, Guitar Hero shouldn't be the only one affected by this roadblock; Electronic Arts and Harmonix are planning to deliver wireless guitars with Rock Band in November, as well. A Harmonix spokesperson confirmed our suspicions with a similar response. "Our first and ideal choice is to utilize Sony's tools for 3rd party use of their PS3's Bluetooth functionality, however our development schedule timing for Rock Band did not coincide for this to be an option for the first generation of Rock Band guitars. Although we have not made any final decision yet on this matter -- we are actively considering moving to the PS3's internal Bluetooth solution in the future when feasible," the studio told us."

They should have put a USB hub in the drum kit. If the guitar receivers take less than 100mA, then they wouldn't even need to have a wall wart.

What's bigger than the announcement that it's gold is the PS2 version's release date getting bumped back a week.

It was fishy enough when Harmonix/MTV said it was coming out in 2007. This is just another sign the PS2 port is getting rushed, which means more chance there'll be bugs that'll never get patched. If the PS2 GH3 was any sign, I might as well cancel the preorder and keep saving up for a 360.

And where's the announcement? There's no link to a press release, and all the links in the post point to other Joystiq posts. There's no news about going gold or the PS2 delay on MTV's, Harmonix's or Rock Band's Web sites.

I've been searching for that answer from day one. I've still got 2 USB Logitech mics left over from PS2 Karaoke Revolution. Will they work? Nobody knows. I guess it's a moot point anyway since I'll have to buy the whole package just to get the damn drum set.

As I remember reading, The xbox headset is too low fidelity for what the algorithm that determines your pitch and whatnot during singing, so you will need a usb mic. Same scenario for the PS3 and using a bluetooth headset. I have not read wether or not standard USB mics will be allowed.

I would assume that the ps2 Karaoke mics would probably be the exact same as they're using in the rock band sets, based on the theory that the rock band engine is half the Karaoke Revolution engine and half the Amplitude engine. That, and the fact that keeping the same mics would save on manufacturing costs (no new parts, enclosure could be different, but plastic is cheap).

If you're still hating on the track list that's fine, we all like different music, just cuz you don't like it doesn't make it bad.

Additionaly they have promised to offer way more downloadable songs than GHIII will have. Who knows if they'll keep that promise. However that's tons of extra cash for them for very little work, and MTV can get the rights so it's defenitly possible. Yes I'm aware that paying for songs you like instead of getting them in the box sucks, but having them available is better than not.

I just hope they eventualy patch GHIII to work with the rock band guitar so I can get a copy of that too without shelling out another giant chunk of cash.

While I'm not exactly a 'guitar hero', I was fairly decent at both the first and the second. I very nearly beat the game on expert, of course 'very nearly' is worth what exactly?

but - keeping that in mind - I for some reason cannot play the guitar part in Rock Band. The Best Buy near me had a demo kiosk, and I literally just cannot play it worth a damn. I'd like to stress, once again, that i'm not a "phallus-smoking n00b" and that my name is not, in fact, "N00blar McN00bins"

not anymore, at least

has anyone else who tried out the demo had the same problem? or am i just earning the namesake that i swear isn't mine?
