Tetris L-block wins GameFAQs character battle

Outside of Imaginationland, the human winner of Character Battle VI is Joystiq reader Samiam779 (full disclosure: he's also a real-life friend of this writer and, yes, there's an extra '7' in his GameFAQs screen name), who told us he plans to donate his prize money, a $400 online gift certificate, to Child's Play charity.
The current poll, which is unrelated to the Character Battle, pits L-block against the Pong paddle, the Weighted Companion Cube and a '? block. As of this writing, our tetromino protagonist is still in the lead.

GameFAQs was great when it and Gouki's page of whatever were the only game in town for fighting game info. And of course USENET.
I mean, I still use it but I haven't seen the front page since I started using Fire Fox. I made myself a search plug-in and that's that.
I honestly can't believe this annual poll is still news, though. That's like telling me people still go to Newgrounds.

Yeah, you don't go there to read quality writing. But, to obtain raw info from the incredible number of faqs and boards on every single obscure game you can think of, it really serves its purpose well.

Yes. But it always hurts my face when I see an enormous disclaimer, followed by sucking ass to cjayc, followed by instructions on how to use the faq, maybe follwed by some unnecessary anecdote on how they were the first to discover everything and how anyone else that writes a guide is "stealing" from them, followed finally by the actual information you were looking for in the first place.

The site has gotten better itself after CJayC left, however. SBAllen/Sailor Bacon is so much more down to the userbase than CJayC was and we actually got some new features...

Now everyone vote for Weighted Companion Cube! Remember, the companion cube will never threaten to stab you, which is more than I can say for the L-Block.
Also, kudos to the winner for donating his prize to charity.
The funniest moment out of this whole big thing was when I looked that the contest leaderss just before the poll closed. All 50 had picked Link. Then I clicked it after the contest was over. The winner had picked L-Block!

Man, seeing L-block win makes me want to play Tetris once again. This game is such a classic, and has a replay value that can be considered by most through the roof.
Also, I just checked the poll and ? Block is about to reach L-block, although it's sad to see WCC on third place in the poll.

As of this post, the ? Block(from Mario games) is winning by a few points... So its the L Block Vs the ? Block. That is seriously the coolest poll ever. Everyone knows Mario and Tetris are like one of the oldest games out there(besides Pong) so everyone should vote.
