I have zero sympathy for you guys next time JT gets some anti-gaming legislation passed.

The gaming media and the gaming conferences do far more than the mainstream media to elevate this guy to a position of respect and authority.

In all honesty, everyone there should be nice to him. That way, when he's up there accusing everyone of being murderers in training, he'll sound even more ridiculous than he normally does.

It irritates me that the only "evidence" that violent gaming causes violence is the study done that showed kids had a tendency towards aggressive, though not physically violent, behavior after long stretches of violent COMPETITIVE gaming. I capitolize competitive because similar studies done on kids competing against one another in a sport have similar results. Is it the violence of the game or the competitive nature and the hard feelings the 4 people who lost harbor?

Along with that, there have been over half a dozen studies I've heard about that failed to create a link to violent gaming, even though they were designed more or less to find a link. Then there is the whole statistics and criminal profiling thing which shows no relation as well.

Yet in these debates JT and other gold digging lawyers and socially conservative attention whores talk about the studies as if a link is proven and people actually are dying because of gaming, even though the current evidence strongly indicates otherwise. They are actually able to sound like they have science and statistics on their side when they overwhelmingly do not. Every judge taking a JT case has overwhelmingly punished and thrown out his motions because statistics and science show overwhelmingly that he is totally out of line. I mean, read some of these judges responses. They are practically calling him an ignorant buffoon with no grip on reality that abuses, misuses, and misinterprets facts to a level that they won't even waste any more public time on.

You can't win a $600M lawsuit defending video games and the 30 and up largely nongaming demographic that actually watches the news is not interested in hearing "well, we've analyzed the statistics and done some studies that show violent video games have no significant link to violent criminals", even though that is exactly what the evidence shows. That is why we have to deal with this crap.

Hopefully he will keep up his attack on that Evil Sims 2 game. I mean really, when you think debased games - you think Sims!

Honestly, why? I'm all for talking it out, having an open & honest debate and finding common ground, but who wants to hear any more of his bullshit? We live in a culture where fear is used as a control. For the right-wing we have "the terrorists", for the left-wing we have "global warming", for incompetent parents we have "videogame violence". Everybody is so afraid of things that are either not real(global warming is a human factor, videogames cause violence) or majorly exaggerated (al quaida is coming for you!), that we can't focus on any real issues. But don't worry, as soon as we get rid of terrorism, global warming, and videogame violence everything will be just rainbow skies and lollipop trees. The cake is a LIE! Have we learned NOTHING!?
