Bungie drops some details on Halo 3 DLC
Over at Bungie's e-home, the newly liberated company has been releasing some details about the Halo 3 DLC that will be hitting the Xbox Live Marketplace at some point. Though some maps are earlier in the development process than others, they all sound pretty interesting.
The first is "O.K. Corral," an asymmetrical medium-sized map that Bungie's Luke Smith says has kind of a sunset feel with plenty of catwalks and alleyways. In addition to the briefly mentioned "Purple Reign" and "Jodrell Bank," we're also excited about "Vandelay," described as the simplest map the company's ever done, which has been crafted to show off the possibilities of the Forge system.
Sadly, Smith is pretty mum on when you'll get your chance to check the levels out, saying "Only a little bit of growing left to do before the frogs find their way to the stream." ... It makes sense in the context of his metaphor. Trust us.

Probably, but one can still hope.
Be awesome if they recreated it for Halo 3 so I can have a go at how much of a poor attempt it was (if they're anything like the foreign mess-ups in Resistence and Folklore).

Also, I'd like to see them import some of the better maps from Halo 1 and 2, and not just crap them out like they did with the last two maps they put out for Halo 2.

If it's one thing I'm disappointed in about Halo 3's multiplayer is the lack of variety. I remember 2 had at least a *bit* more variety than this. What happened to the game mode (forget the name) where you just get two random weapons with infinite ammo?
I'd like at least a little more variety. Adding more maps is a start, but let's see some more game modes. How about Rockets and Hammers? That would be kinda amusing. Or a game mode where you have infinite of all grenades? I've never even seen the fire grenade in multiplayer.
Come on! Something! I'm sick of playing VIP and territories all the damn time, and I'm too cheap to buy a new game!
How come every time the VIP just has an overshield and that god-awful-worthless Magnum? Why not make it a little more random, sometimes giving the VIP a shotgun, or a rocket launcher. Or instead of simply having an overshield, give the VIP increased running and a higher jump. Or a one-hit-kill melee attack? That way you can't just run up and punch the VIP a few times to kill him, which is so horrendously lame.
VIP in the beta was actually kinda fun, because the VIP was almost OVERpowered, instead of UNDERpowered, so it actually took strategy and teamwork to take him out. But now it's just lame.
Sorry for the bitching and ranting, but I ALWAYS seem to get this game mode. It's gotten to the point where I don't veto anything unless it's VIP, fearing that if I veto, I'd just get VIP.
