Dojo update: Gray Fox enters the fray

ASSIST TROPHY? Garbage!

Here's hoping we can unlock assists as playable characters.

Good thinking rocketman. unlocking them would be totally bad ass, but very unlikely. Although with some of the updates i totally didn't expect (stage builder, pictochat level, snake) i really can't rule it out entirely.

I don't know if "Enter the Fray" are the best words to use for an assist trophy.

The Dojo does mention...

"He approaches stealthily with lithe jumps, coming right in then slicing repeatedly. Awww! It makes you want to use him as a playable character"

And later...

"You never know what might happen in this world".

I feel the major suprises aren't over yet.

I don't usually do this, but I felt compelled to tell you something....snake has... an absolutely breathtaking... heinie, i mean, that thing is good, i want to be friends with it

Well, it's great to see we're getting more third-partie guys, even if assist trophies. Guess its time to wait for then to announce Tails, Knuckles and all the other 387 guys from Sonic.

But what's up with the Dojo saying "Awww! It makes you want to use him as a playable character". Is it a hint or just plain old sadism?

I dunno, that blogger has a real interesting way of words... But yeah, I was just thinking about this the other day too, if you could play as assist trophies. I feel like the way it would work would be similar to the King of Fighters 2000 (if anyone has ever played this).

But basically, there are some characters you clearly wouldn't be able to play as (Advance Wars, Nintendog, Lakitu, etc.) But for the others like Grey Fox, Little Mac, and Samurai Goroh they seem totally playable.

Which brings me to my next point, maybe all characters appear as assist trophies. Like maybe there is a Mario assist trophy, Sonic, Link, Kirby, etc. Therefore, while some characters are only assist trophies, playable characters also have their own assist trophies.

I hope that makes sense.

Are the blog entries translated to English by someone else? If so, maybe something just got lost in translation.

The game is looking great, should be getting close to another character reveal...

If they allow the assist trophies as playable characters, then I'm guessing it will be a separate, unlockable mode that will have no effect on the records. It'll probably have an off-balance-yet-fun kinda feel to it, like Lego Star Wars (it's the best example I can think of). Not all of the buttons would be used, since the assist trophies seem to only have a couple of moves each. Still, it'd be an interesting little time waster. No way they'd allow you to play it online or against the normal characters or anything.

Regarding the other update:
1. (First Pic)The shields now have a static electricity effect. Coo.
2. (Last Pic)Ike has some CRAZY reach with that sword.

I wouldnt' go so far as to say he is a sadist, he's more of a tease

But its good to see broader 3rd-party involvement in the main game world, now we just need Knuckles as an assist trophy

Screw Tails, i want Knuckles

Maybe Raiden will be a playable character.
