I'm just having trouble understanding this game type... it is already hard enough to keep people in the mind set of any objective type game play where they need to work together. Or even free for all people don't get it either. What is there for incentive or mechanics to keep people from ruining what sounds like a potentially interesting game type?

@1: People who know that IO Interactive produces quality games and that Jesper Kyd is the fucking GOD of game music care about this game.

I don't care about this game too much either. They should've delayed the game so they can ADD multiplayer co-op, maybe they're the ones that don't care? Oh well, I'll have plenty of fun with other games. COD4 giveaway ftw!

So wait, is the "betrayal" gametype offline only? 'Cause that would be retarded -- if somebody betrays you, you come back as an opponent and you can just look at the other side of the split screen to see their every move?

Fail.

Almost every major game has online coop????

COD 4, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Blacksite, Stranglehold, Oblivion, The Orange Box...

Where's all the online coop?

I dont think most of you guys get the point of the game.

Its not ur Halo3 RUN AROUND AND SHOOT EACH OTHER OR MAYLAY GAME.

It actually takes some thinking and skill. I am not dissing Halo cause i like that game. But why is it when a developer tries to give us something more then just a FPS people have this confused look on their face.

The online multiplayer portion sounds really good. You play as a team trying to accomplish certain task in a set time. You can betray eachother and increase your LOOT but then the other players will have to watchout for the traitor.

Once you die your spawned as a COP trying to stop the robbers from getting away. New twist and that soudns great.

This COD4 and MassEffect will be my last purchases for the year.

Wow, some of you need to play fewer video games and work on your reading comprehension. Let's review so you can get your facts straight:

1 - co-op, which is when you play WITH someone, rather than AGAINST them is offline only.

2 - the game DOES have online multiplayer features; they're just not co-op; this is the betrayal mode the devs are talking about.

@Kyle, gamers care about this game. Madden/Halo aficionados probably not so much, but anyone who's played any of IO Interactive's previous games knows they can deliver the goods better than most studios, their games are always a sure bet.

And everyone that's worked up about no online co-op? Now you know how those of us with real-life friends feel when a game comes out with no offline co-op. ;)

@Roman,

You might want to review your list of major games with online co-op. Stranglehold has online vs only... and Oblivion has online... um... items to buy in xbox live marketplace only; it's a strictly single-player game.

Yo, AoE, master of Reading Comprehension, I'm pretty sure you need to read Roman's post again. Normally I would just explain how he's actually listing games that don't have online co-op as a way of rebutting the claim that online co-op is a pseudo-standard feature and a prerequisite for awesomeness. But I don't want to ruin the joy you'll get out of discovering it for yourself.

Secondly, could you name one of those games that made you and your real friends feel so bad because it had online co-op but no local co-op?

@Etchasketchist, touché. I guess if I'm going to knock other's reading comprehension I should take the time to actually read the comments I'm responding to. Roman, my apologies.

As for games that my friends and I were unhappy with because of online co-op but no local co-op? I'm sorry I don't have a complete list handy for you; but a few that stand out in my mind as frustrating because of the lack of local co-op that included online co-op: Chromehounds, Saint's Row, and most especially Crackdown. You.... did realize that there's a grip of games out there with online co-op but no local co-op, yes? I ask because it seemed like you're trying to call me out there. But honestly dude, for those of us that like to game with friends, it's an issue that comes up more often than you'd expect. ;)

A game w/o true coop in 2007 gets no dollars from me. What the developers are really saying in this trailer is "thanks to all the suckers, for buying our game, we really didn't put too much into it, but you will be happy to know, we will enjoy spending you $60!! Hugs, kisses and a hard b***h slap, from yor new pimp. Now gimme my money b****ch

Graphics look satisfactory, better than early 360 titles, but not quite on par with currents.

As long as they get the controls to work well, this should be a good game. However, I have a problem with the whole traitor thing:

If the pilot of the chopper saw a massive firefight between the people he was supposed to pick up, wouldn't he just fly off? Or land and then shoot the survivor when he climbs up? You wouldn't want a traitor in your squad.

If you had to eliminate people without others realising it, it might be slightly better, no?

That was a list of major games *without* online content.

My point was - saying that nearly all major games have online content is ridiculous.
