i was so close to catching it this morning!

did anyone else notice tons of copies of Okami on the shelves at the game store? that was pretty cool.

still so on the fence about AC! i just got COD4 AND i'm already planning on getting Mass Effect. AC looks really fun and i'll definitely play, just can't decide if it is worth a purchase. will i even have the time??

That episode was hilarious, "You are FAGS".
Heroin Hero GOTY!

Hey Kp, if your not sure I recommend just renting it, beat it, and buy Mass Effect ;) that's my plan.

Anyways how is COD4? I've read rave reviews, hopefully I can win some free swag but chances are slim :(

My girl and I were stunned that they censored out the knife in the back of that one commercial... DURING SOUTH PARK!!!

Being from Colorado, it was hilarious to see that they actually used real people from Colorado at the coke/sex party.

Top 3 Moments
1. Thad playing acoustically at Cafe.
2. Stan to Jay Cutler: "You kinda suck, but my dad says you might be good someday."
3. Heroin Hero FTW!

@8

My wife (who's from Colorado) freaked out about the old guy with the tiger (some furniture store owner?) - we had to rewind and check it again.

The commercial pump certainly worked on me. I'm not a fan of adventure type games (aside from the occasional Tomb Raiders...) but the graphics and art style sold me on this one.

Hunh. All the Assassin's Creed ads just killed my interest. I *thought* it was something like the Hitman series, but it turns out it's just a hack-n-slasher like God of War or Devil May Cry, but with a halfway decent (?) story, including LOTS of cut-scenes and cinemas.

That does not interest me at all. I don't play games to watch some game designer who dreams of making movies foist his lame cinemas on me. If you want to make movies, go make movies. If you want to make a game, then give me, the player, control. If I want to watch a crappy CG movie, I'll rent Shrek 3.

I'm not saying a game can't have a story or cutscenes, but Assassin's Creed, from the look of it with those advertisements, has a LOT of cinemas, and they're the focal point of the game. The Hitman series balanced story and gameplay nicely, as did the May Payne games. There's a point, however, when the game designer takes over my XBox to tell his story, and denies me the opportunity to control the game, make decisions about the DIRECTION in which the story goes, and turns his "game" into an interactive movie that has less options and depth than a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book.

So no Assassin's Creed for me. If I want to play a 3D beat-em-up game, I'll grab my Hitman discs and murder everyone in the Thermal Spa for fun. At least Hitman doesn't make me watch an hour of movies to get to the gameplay.
