What we can say is that the video above does show that we're finally starting to hit a better balance point between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation. This is a far cry from the Madden '08 comparison video where the differences were pretty clear even in an internet quality video. We'll take this as a good sign that we're moving away from having obvious performance differences and gamers can choose their multiplatform games based on controller preference and (if important) online experience.

i hope you guys are kidding about no difference. there are huge differences. look at the sunroof, on the beginning, the 360 has more variations and more contrast. on the "bog" stage, the big ass smoke on the left, is dull with no texture on the ps3 and on the 360 is lumped up like smoke from an explosion. all throughout the video. if you pause when they are on the same frame, the 360 clearly has more contrast on doesn't look as washed out and dark as the ps3 version. this is just a matter of preference. but i like contrast and saturation because it gives it a filmy look. the ps3 looks washed out with no contrast. please pay attention to the video. and pause it to study the difference. thank you

Hmm, absolutely no difference. If I didn't have a monster PC, I'd have gone 360 for the better controller, though the PS3 would have been less noisy.

This game was playable on my 5 year old PC with settings on normal @ 1680x1050. They played it safe so all systems would be very similar. The comparisons video's, in my opinion, are worthless. This isn't crysis we're talking about, here.

Remember the days when every game released for the PS2 and Xbox was better on Xbox? The graphics were far superior and there was usually an extra level or some kinda extra content thrown in.
And yet the PS2 crushed the xbox like an ant. Go figure...
My point is that is really doesn't matter which system has the better graphics or more unlockable stuff. It's the install base. The system in more homes will always win.

Fair enough Naeem. The spiffy hard drive feature didn't save it either. Still, for certain games it was the only system in town.

PS3 has slightly better textures and a slightly different hue (developers confirmed this). It's good though. The difference is neglible. This means the PS3 has finally caught up to the 360 in visuals.

Only when Infinity Ward is the developer. They may have confirmed a different hue, but not better textures.

I think I caught one slightly higher-res texture on the PS3 when he was climbing a ladder. I think.
Suffice it to say I will not be buying this on either system, for I am already prepared to spend too much money on other games. If I do, it'll probably be on the 360. Controller's comfier.

Difference in textures is pretty apparent. First what looks very different - is glass in car. After that it all looks different. Can't say what's better - even HD version isn't sufficient for that.
Difference in lighting is also very apparent. Hardly can say what's better: Xbox360 shadows looks sharper, on PS3 were more smaller shadows - but also less glitter.
Subjective perception: PS3 is better. (Disclaimer: PC/Wii gamer.)
But again, video compression - even on HD file - made the whole discussion moot.

I own both (friends on PS3 to play with, achievements and other friends on the 360) and after comparing both on two seperate TVs, the PS3 one looks ever-so-slightly better, with a crisper over-all feel, while the 360 is mildly duller. Are the slightly better visuals worth not having rumble (yet) and missing out on a larger installed base of players to go up against in online multiplayer? I can't answer that for you, but that's also the fanboy way to look at things. The reality is some people just own one of the systems, they're not buying the other anytime soon, and they just want a good game on what they own. And that's what this game is: excellent on both platforms.

Colin: "GT" ? Something on your mind that was just too long to type out?
Heh heh. Why would I make that up? I was as curious as anyone reading this thread, and I owned both. So my friend and I did a/b tests for 30 minutes like nerds. And that is what we determined. Minimal graphic advantage: PS3.

I think that the PS3 was slightly better at the darker spots but the 360 was better in the lighter ones, of course I could be imagining the differences.

I think I saw a few better textures on the Xbox version, I'm thinking mainly of this time where it showed this mustached dude's face, the face texture looked a little less pale and slightly more... textured. Ps3 had some better lighting in spots, but i think the 360 generally looked a smidge better. Really though, if you switched between with maybe a 20 second break, you wouldn't notice any differences whatsoever. Maybe side by side you can tell a tiny thing, but the reality is that they both look great. I'd be interested to see how it looks on a high end pc.
In other news, I'm debating weather to go with the 360 or pc version, I have a pc that can run it at max settings, but I generally enjoy xbox live's multiplayer over pc's. The pc version is cheaper, but the 360 comes with achievements, which in my opinion add a fair deal of fun to games. I use the same monitor and speakers for both my 360 and pc, (22 inch samsung 226bw, Creative GigaWorks ProGamer G550W) so that's not a deciding factor.
Any thoughts?

I'd say the 360 version. The game is farily short and the multiplayer is just to derivitive to rush out and buy it just for that. Console games keep their value longer, so you could sell it off for a smaller loss than the PC version.

I can notice very little differences on both versions of the games. PS3's has a little more definition and color while the 360's has a little more lighting effects, but pretty much people might not notice these differences and say the games look identical.
Looks like the PS3 is finally showing what it has... for once...

I have both a 360 and PS3 and I went 360 for COD4 for the rumble.
Would have gone PS3 if the DualShock 3 was out. The noise of the 360 is a bit annoying if you aren't cranking your stereo when you play games.

Shouldnt it have been ahead in the first place? Since it has the all mighty "Cell" When the original Xbox first came out all the multiplat games looked better on it right off the bat. Same shoulda been for PS3 if all the crap they wear spreading was true. Anyway Im done. Glad to see the PS3 does finally have a winner on there. I would still get it for 360 for the controls, online and achievements =)

Hehe, with someone with an avatar like that, I can totally bet you would.
But to be honest, I would get it for PC, but since I can't afford the specs yet, I prefer to wait until the 360's version comes here. Cheaper, more comfortable controllers (not as comfy as M+K, but still like it), and not much of a graphics snob so... yeah.

Not always, since the graphics card is independent of the cell. Making games look and feel better than the 360 takes more work than just porting it over just enough to play.
The PS3 has a vastly more powerful processor ...and here is the key...for certain types of problems. Otherwise it the main core is less powerful than the 360's three. So if devs can't, or won't, adapt to the SPE architecture...then the PS3 performs worse than the 360.
A lot hinges on the fact that devs are "just beginning" to make use of the Cell. Beyond that they need demo games illustrating the benefits of a tuned game. In the meantime, games like COD4 at least tell other developers that making a multi-platform game is sensible.
As someone pointed out earlier, the Xbox had better specs. But the difference wasn't overwhelming enough to displace the PS2 lead. Sony needs the Cell to be a key difference over time.
