What we can say is that the video above does show that we're finally starting to hit a better balance point between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation. This is a far cry from the Madden '08 comparison video where the differences were pretty clear even in an internet quality video. We'll take this as a good sign that we're moving away from having obvious performance differences and gamers can choose their multiplatform games based on controller preference and (if important) online experience.

Is it just me, or is the field of vision completely different on the 360 when compared with the PS3? The 360 version seems zoomed in further in comparison. Otrher than that, there is no note worthy difference between the two.
The only thing that REALLY matters, is that EVERYONE is going to be playing this game on Xbox Live. In other words, if you don't buy this game for the 360, get ready to play with yourself (like always. lolololercopter)

I keep seeing claims that CoD4 runs in 1080 on the 360 and 720 on the PS3.

No, I've heard the PS3 is 720 and the 360 is 1080 for this particular game.
I must be misunderstanding something then. If a game on the PS3 running in 720 looks identical to the same game running on the 360 in 1080 surely that is a "win" for Sony, yes?

anyone care to comment? why is there no contrast on the ps3 version, or not as much and why is their smoke has the wrong texture, its not an explosion smoke,it looks like someone lit something on fire.

also look at the horse drawn cart by the fuel tanker near the end. look at the edges of the cart, absolutely no contrast just a brown cart while the 360 has a whitish tint, where the sun hits it. another major difference, is the arabic writing above the cart. the 360 version is clearer and has more contrast, the ps3 version looks washed out. please pause the video along so you can actually see the difference between both consoles. not saying one is better its just a matter of preference.

The game is not mostly brown. I just played through it and theres plenty of greens, blues, and blacks. The setting is located mostly in Russia.

From the pics, some were better for the 360 while others looked better on the ps3. Slight differences, but they were there.
As for the COD 4 video, it really looked like to me as if the 360 looked better. I'd love to see them side by side on HD TV's though just to confirm.
